The target audience seems to love it.,

My son loves it! Some days I'll have to do the Pookie dance for him four or five times, and any book that gets him that excited (as most of Sandra Boynton's books do) gets five stars. It's possible that he's precisely at the target age; he's not quite two and very fond of music and dancing.

Sandra Boynton rocks! I am not sure how she comes up with her rhyming and her wording but whatever it is it works.....My child loves all the pookie books, they are fun and well put together. In addition the board books are sturdy and colorful.
great addition to any child's library!

Oh, Little Pookie, we love you so!,

My 4-year-old and 20-month-old twins are serious Pookie fans. We loved What's Wrong Little Pookie, but I think the little ones like this one even better. "What's Wrong" is a wonderful story (my favorite, for sure), though the story isn't as rivetting for the kids. A toddler is going to like a book to the degree that you can make it likeable, and Let's Dance Little Pookie offers plenty of opportunity for animated reading. My girls love hopping and marching with Pookie, reaching up and down, and especially love the little voice I use just for Pookie. A book is what you make it. Boynton gives you plenty of chances to make this one a winner for your kids!

What happened?!?!!?,

Oh, Ms. Boynton, what happened? Your first Pookie book was so cute, so clever, so insightful about little kids... and now this? The rhythm, rhyme and meter are off, and the story is totally inane. I'm disappointed on every level, and it's so much worse that this is a Pookie book and not just some other Boynton character or animal. I was so charmed by the first Pookie book, and naturally I expected so much more from his reappearance. I think the character has been devalued by this second book: What's Wrong Little Pookie may be Ms. Boyton's best book, and this is almost certainly her worst. I wish I could demand my money back.

My kids just loved the first book "What's Wrong Little Pookie" but this one they think is just ok. Hopefully she will write more of these books though I think the character is great!

When I first got this book as a gift I thought it was ok - maybe a little sing-songy, and I wasn't so into some of the made-up words, but still ok. Turns out that my daughter has a mind of her own and LOVES it. Now 1 1/2, she really likes the rhyming ("Say hey Little Pookie, you're a wonder to see, come on my Little Pookie, won't you dance with me?"), and does the actions along with the book (reaches for the sky, then down for her toes, etc). We've read this book to her so many times, at her request, that we've now both got it memorized! Now it's a fun family read.

My daughter's favorite book!,

This is, without a doubt, my daughter's favorite book. We read it so often that I have it memorized, which is a good thing as her sippy cup leaked all over it in the diaper bag (the book goes everywhere with us) and now the pages are all stuck together, so I have to get a replacement!

This is one of my 2 year old son's favorite books. It is fun to read to him and he has fun "reading" it to us in return. I highly recommend ANY of the Sandra Boynton books for older infants and toddlers.
