5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!
I've had this CD for years, and I love it! Each one is done beautifully, and they use an assortment of different instruments. From Violin, to Accordian. If you are a fan of celtic music, this is definetly a must have!

3.0 out of 5 stars background music for an afternoon with friends
Paddy Fahy's Jig was a favorite of mine with its eerie fiddle and guitar. As a whole the CD flows so well that one barely notices the transitions and even the silence when the last track has been played. A fine acoustic collection of energetic as well as melancholy Irish music.

I love Irish dance music and have a number of "Celtic music" cd's. This one is my favorite. I'd give it SIX stars. It's a great compilation of jigs and reels (as the title indicates) by various performers and featuring a variety of different instruments, including flute, whistle, bagpipes, fiddle, and accordion. Very upbeat, with a refreshing mix of instrumentations and meters. Highly recommended!

I believe that this cd has many unique and pretty pieces. It is very flowing and has many beutiful aspects about it. I think this gives a wonderful over all picture of the Highland symphony at work.
