I own all the DDR titles that I know of for the PS2 (Flow-Urban Dance Uprising, DDR Max 1 and 2, DDR Extreme 1 and 2, Into the Groove, Pump it Up), so I was afraid that buying a DDR title for the Xbox would have a lot of overlap in the songs offered for the PS2, but there are tons of wonderful new songs to play, and a wider range of styles. This was well worth the money.

I love how many songs have videos, and I love the quirky song choices and the range of genres. There is Istanbul (Not Constantinople) by They Might be Giants, Rock Lobster by the B-52's (with a video), Alphabet Aerobics by Blackalicious (awesome, it speeds up as the song goes so by the end you are really skipping!), Sakura (the speed changes in this one really keep me challanged), Hey Mama by the Black Eyed Peas, and Nari Narien which is fun Indian-inspired techno. The difficulties are similar to DDR Max and Extreme titles - I usually play standard to heavy and I feel like there is a lot of room to grow into this game.

My RedOctane Ignition pad with the included XBox connector works great with this game. The load times are reasonably fast, too.

This is a great addition to a full DDR library of titles.

Of all the X-box Ultramix games, I thought this had the best selection of music.

The songs can be put into 3 groups:
First: licensed songs sung by their original artists, notably with 80s music. Devo's "Whip it" with the original video, B-52s "Rock Lobster" to name a few. There were about 12 songs in this group before I unlocked anything. All these are 6-7 feet on the hard setting, so you can tell Konami had the "30-something" group in mind with this portion of the selection.
Second: typical DDR trance(Butterfly, Breakdown, and other recycled songs)
Third: hard (industrial rock and gothic)

There is a smattering of other stuff (Jazz and funk) with a noticable absence of slower ballads, which I don't miss.

A few other things I like about this version compared to earlier ones: 1. The arrow patterns are getting a bit more creative. 2. When you first play, there's already a decent mix of 9 and 10 foot songs before unlocking more. That was my biggest complaint about DDR Extreme 2 - not enough super difficult songs at the opening.

There is one annoying thing about Ultramix 3: everytime the game starts up, you get about a 30 second pause while it loads songs you downloaded from X-box live. The other versions didn't have this.

Overall, it is a great experience, which makes it the best Xbox DDR out. If you have a PS2, you should take a look at "In the Groove", which is the best for that platform.

I originally wrote a nasty review about this verison of the game because I was and still am such a fan of ddr extreme 2 but this one is really starting to do it for me...both my kids absolutely love it (2 yrs and 6 yrs) and I am loosing weight because some of these songs I love doing so I end up doing it everyday...faithfully!

The only downfall is the fact that there are more Japanese songs than anything and I think that is why I was originally turned off by it. It did take a little getting used too, but there are many songs that have an addictive dancable beat that I definitely don't regret buying this game.

The game is fun and pretty much what I expected based on the reviews I read of it. The one thing I liked that I did not expect based on reviews is that it does contain American based songs and not just Disco/Club type music. My one disappointment is that I expected some sort of noise or something when I stepped on a step to let me know I stepped on it. However the game does not support this that I can tell. This may be no shock to previous DDR owners but since this was my first getting used to the game is a little tough.

Also, it is a little tricky figuring out how to play and hook up the Controllers/Dance Pad and the manual poorly describes how to do it. Again, previous DDR owners may laugh but this caused us some time trying to figure it out. I have several XBox games and have never had trouble but the dance pad made it a little tricky.

Overall, the game is what it is and if you like the others then you should like this game.

It's very good exercise for those who want to lose weight. I lost 5 pounds within a few days and I'm a 320 pound guy. It's really alot of fun and you people who haven't played, should try it or buy. It's well worth your money.

Upon recieving DDR Ultramix 3 for the holidays as a gift, I was nothing short of thrilled! It had all the songs I could have hoped for; there was a large selection and all were fun and very upbeat. Plus, Ultramix 3 has many options, with up to five different skill levels (beginner, light, standard, heavy, and oni), a freestyle mode (which allows you to dance crazily and have a blast), and XBOX live. I really enjoyed DDR Ultramix 3. The game was fun and anyone--you, your friends, or your family--can take part in "dancing" to the amazing songs.

Too Americanized. DDR 1 on xbox was very much in the Japanese style and desirable as such. 2 moved toward American style and 3 even more so. DDR originated in Japan and shouldn't try to be American. I played DDR 3 for a while, but I've since put both it and DDR2 on backburner as I play 1 almost exclusively now. Heavy songs are not very hard on this version of DDR, thus they had to throw in an extra difficulty level of Oni. That brings the total number of levels up to 5--I believe there were originally 3: light, standard and heavy. 5 difficulties makes things cluttered I think, it's too much. 3 was good.

Music is also less catchy. Jpop tunes are mostly absent. You know something is fishy in DDR when Good Charlotte and the B52s start popping up. Check the song list before you decide to purchase. In retrospect I can't decide if I regret getting this or not. I'm a big fan of DDR so I probably would have bought it regardless of whatever--and that is in fact what I did so there you have it. Just be careful if you're not a big fan, as I do truly think the former versions were better. Although it may depend on what your opinion is of Japanese style versus American style in video games. Or just in general.

I bought this game after being so used to the less Americanized DDR Extreme for the PS2. Being an Xbox owner, I figured this would be the best way to go. I play on Standard or Heavy in general, and this was a definate change from the more origional versions. The songs lack the two types of songs that I enjoyed the most on DDR Extreme: Japanese Pop and the insnanely fast songs like Paranioa Eternal, Maximiser, and A.

However, I was fortunately able to find some of my favorite songs from the arcade on DDR U3, like the Legend of MAX (which you dont get right off, I wasn't able to unlock it for monthes), Sakura (one you get straight out of the box), bag (one of my favorites to play on Standard), and Daikenkai (not sure if I spelled that right). And some of these new songs I found quite nice.

But in general, most of the songs are, to be honest, total trash. On average, I can play about 10 to 20 minutes before running out of good songs. I mean come on...Good Charlote just dosn't belong on a DDR game. This one has been too Americanized.

I own several of the DDR games and this is by far my favorite! The songs on this version are much better than the original two. It includes many more recognizable songs including ones by the "Black Eyed Peas", "Ray Charles" (my personal favorite) and "Moby". I also enjoy the new features on this game. There is a freestyle section where you dance along to the song however you want to and it scores based on creativity and talent. This is a fun feature to use when you want to test who in a group is the better natural dancer :-) Another great thing about this game is the ability for one person to dance with four dance mats! You obviously have to have 4 mats, but it is so much fun it's worth it! This game is so addictive that you'll play it for hours without even realizing it. Our family uses it for excercise, it's definately more than a treadmill and has a workout tracker so you know how many calories you are burning! If you are looking for a dancing game I definately recommend DDR 3, it's great!

Obviously it requires a mat and that's the downfall of this game. It was OK.
