The game has a new user mode, good for newbies who need training.
It was not clear that you could only play 2 players if you had two pads (or the handheld controller), otherwise you must log in/out of your xbox to switch XBox live accounts between songs if you want to save your game.
There seem to be very few hits / radio songs with many being similar versions of the same old beats.
The animations are rather simplistic and graphics appear almost pixillated on a big screen HDTV.
Would have tried playing against others on XBox Live, but could never find any matching dance partner. I think most others have already given up on this one.
The quest mode is a pain in the behind because many of the quests require you to do things that most of the random songs do not have, so even when completing a song with high marks, you still fail.
Overall, This game was a bit disappointing after what I remember playing so many a time at the arcade. I wish I had read the other product reviews prior to buying. Looking now, I should have paid a little extra for Universe 2 or 3.
However, the game is ok for a cheap starter and my wife and I have had hours of fun playing. Any game that gets you off your seat is a plus. This one will make you sweat, so dress appropriately.
Some minor problems: there seems to be trouble with calibrating the arrows with the tempo, but can be fixed by trial and error of changing the arrow timing. The different arrow colors are very hard to see if you leave them on default, I would suggest putting them on "note" setting (the old red, blue, yellow, and green arrows). Issues with the loading screens happen occasionally, after a song ends the game might take a few minutes to go to results, so I usually need to step on start/select or back to make it work. The song difficulty on this version is true through the beginner to expert modes, so that leaves the last problem...the songs are actually difficult to play, but that's how it should be! Hope this helps future buyers :)
This is as much fun as the arcade version. The user interface when dealing with multiple players isn't that great and the 'party games' are somewhat non obvious (w/o reading the manual) and buggy (playing some of them with 1 controller attached causes the 360 to hang and require a power cycle). The main game and included music is great though so these minor issues shouldn't scare anyone away.
