Diverse indie project,
By Bandar D. Vark "Bark" (Colorado, United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dance On This Earth (Audio CD)
This is a very well produced CD. The songs are diverse, well constructed, well played, and extremely well recorded and mixed. This is NOT the Christian heavy metal band by the same name (thank goodness!); but is a band that pre-dates the Christian heavy metal band by several years, as is apparent from the release date.
The songs have good lyrics, and cover a broad spectrum of emotions, from angry (Walkin' By The River) to melancholy (Find a Way, Invisible), to apocryphal (Dance On This Earth), and just plain fun (Drivin' Down The Road, Seems Like Lately). Though this is not country music, there is some excellent guitar work on this CD, by CMA guitarist of the year nominee, Brent Rowan, whose talents shine on many of the cuts. I particularly liked Broken Mirror, Find a Way, and Talk to Me. Good stuff! If you are looking for so called "Christian" heavy metal, this is not what you're looking for; but if you are looking for some quality, independent, totally original music, give this a listen! It is amazingly good for an indie effort.

Not the Christian rock band,

This cd is not what I expected. This cd is not the christian Sleeping Giant band. Do not purchase this album if you are looking for the christian rock band. I will be returning it. I guess there are two bands that go by the name Sleeping Giant.
