Excellent vampire book,
By
This review is from: Dance with a Vampire (Vampire Kisses, Book 4) (Hardcover)
Vampire Kisses 4: Dance with a Vampire starts off right where the 3rd one left off. Alex and Raven are still in search for Valantine mixed in with trying to go to prom and Raven trying to keep everything that's going on a secret. I could hardly put the book down from the time I got it. I just finished it and It's almost 2 a.m. as I am writing this so there's an example of how good it is.
The only thing I have to complain about his her writing style. I understand it's more of a preteen series, but her writing is rather Juvenille. Some of the ways she writes particular things could be worded better to reach a wider audience. But other than that, the book was excellent. I just hope they make a 5th one. But I recommened that anyone over the age of 10-11ish to read the series. It's one that shouldnt be left out of your collection.

Goth Girl Growing Up,
By Renee C. Mulhare "matrixrefugee77" (MA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dance with a Vampire (Vampire Kisses, Book 4) (Hardcover)
The tone of this fourth installment in the series is a little different, and while our goth-girl heroine, sharp-tongued Raven Madison, might be juggling her qualms and excitement over the junior prom with helping her "knight of the night" Alexander trace an especially tricksy young vampire named Valentine (who has his fangs set on her geeky younger brother), she's clearly growing up and reaching that stage where she's starting to question herself, the persona she's established, and her own place in the world. You get the feeling she's growing past the "kindergothen" stage and into the deeper aspect of the Goth mentality, going from a consumer of Goth kitsch to a person unafraid to stare down the dark things that the average person tends to shuffle past, whistling. She's even questioning if she's really meant to be Alexander's true vampire-mate, and while I felt a little let-down at the cliff-hanger end, I'm still looking forward to seeing where she goes and where her self-awareness takes her and her relationship with Alexander.

This book was definitely not what I had expected, but proved itself to be a book that you will realy want to sink your teeth into. Unlike most series, each book starts where rite at the point the last one ended. The end of the book left me antagonized knowing that I have to wait almost a year for the next book, just to find out what happes between the two teens we have all come to love. I would not recomend reading this book until the fifth book becomes available.

DANCE WITH A VAMPIRE continues the tale of Raven, the outcast, and her hottie boyfriend, Alexander.
They have just defeated the two sibling vampires threatening both their town and their relationship. They're now ready to relax together when Valentine arrives. Valentine befriends Raven's younger brother, Billy, and suddenly she's very protective of her little brother. Valentine has the ability to read the innermost thoughts of someone's mind once he touches them. He knows that Raven's not ready to become a vampire. Ellen Schreiber writes another great tale in this saga -- so well that readers will want to sink their teeth into the VAMPIRE KISSES series. Reviewed by: Jennifer Rummel

I am still on a twilight kick and sought out other series to "quench" my need. This series is very innocent but does not appeal to all age groups. Entertaining but if I wasn't on such a kick, I don't think I would of taken the suggestion of following this series. But,of course, I have to finish the series and ordered the last book of the series.

More Drivel,
This review is from: Dance with a Vampire (Vampire Kisses, Book 4) (Hardcover)
Ellen Schreiber's newest book-
I picked up and read the first "Vampire Kisses" novel thinking it was a joke, and enjoyed it as such. It's terrible writing and horridly cliched plot were hilarious parody on all the crappy vampire fan-fics online... then I realized that the woman was serious. With the plot-outline too juvenile for a high-school creative writing class and skill with a pen to match, Schreiber created what I consider to be the best, bad novels I've ever read. Like the "Friday the 13th" series, she's beating to death a crappy concept with poor execution. This fourth installment, however, is far less entertaining. While the first few are worth a quick read and a scoff, the third getting repetitious, and this fourth one is just tiresome. Maybe it'd be funnier still if it were actually a joke- unfortunately, she (and her fans) actually believe there's something profound here.

If you enjoy the house of night books you will probably enjoy this series of books. I've read them all. I was disappointed to find out the "blood relatives" volumns are comic books though. I ordered all three before I knew. I guess if you know what "manga" is you would know this, but I didn't. I think this should be made clearer.

Simple Amazing.,

This book is by far one of the best books I have read. It starts off where the third book stopped. Raven and Alexander find that Jagger and Luna's younger brother have come to town, and try to stop him from doing anything harmful.
Young and teens readers will enjoy this romantic and adventurous book. Especially in the end, where a small twist comes in.

The most important night of the year is drawing near...but not without a little trouble from the Underworld.
Dullsville's newest night-faring intruder may be only a tween, but Raven knows that Valentine Maxwell, the younger sibling of two nefarious vampires, is a full-size menace. Valentine becomes even more a threat when he befriends her brother, Billy. Raven must try to shield Billy, even as the biggest excitement of the year approaches: attending prom with her immortal love, Alexander. And while Alexander is one kind of vampire--sweet--Raven soon learns Valentine is another. Could Valentine somehow know Raven's private thoughts about turning into a vampire? |
