A must have if your a dancer!,

This review is from: Dance anatomy and kinesiology (Hardcover)
For my kinesiology class this book was availabale in the library for student use. After using it the first time and seeing all that was included within the text, I had to have it. The pictures throughout this book are very helpful to dancers who are learning about anatomy. I know this book will be my guide as I further my dance career. It is amazing, every dancer should own it to understand how their body works properly!

Must have for dance science grads and educators,

This book is very in depth. It's perfect for a graduate level course but maybe too much to bite down on for undergrads who are having their first dance kinesiology experience. I do recommend it to the instructors for undergrad dance kinesiology though as a reference. Additionally it has great work out exercises and tests (for alignment, strength, flexibility, etc).

This book is one of the best Anatomy and Kinesiology books mixed into one book. For those in the fitness industry this is one of the best books I've come across. We used it for our Anatomy course at our Pilates studio in Wayzata MN. The illustrations are wonderful! Karen's writing and examples makes the information enjoyable. She also uses other examples besides those in dance that are very helpful. Thanks for the wonderful book!Pam Hasselbring Pilates MN

Dance Kines teachers: use this one, not the other one! The students get it, I get it, and the exercises are applicable to all we do. So clear and so useful for just what they need, minus the stuff they don't need, or won't use. The "other" dance kines book was fine for its day but this one is better written and the photos and drawings are WAY better.

Great source of information. This book has provided me with a great instructional resource when explaining injury to the many dancers who attend pilates classes.
