5.0 out of 5 stars Would Love More Songs But Having a Blast January 27, 2011

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This is my first DDR game. We attempted to buy one a couple of years ago and kept getting a bad pad. When I saw this deal on Amazon to get the game and the pad for only $20 I couldn't pass it up and I'm so happy I didn't.

1. You can use this game with the Wii Fit board, and just bump your hips in the right direction and shake the hand controllers, or you can use the dance pad.

2. I love the workout modes. This is why I got this game. Really the only games we've played on the Wii are the Wii Fit games and we love those too, this is a great addition.

3. You can get a workout without feeling like you are working out. I'm still getting the hang of the game and have it set on Beginner mode and I'm just keeping up. It's enough of a challenge to be enjoyable but I know I still have plenty of room to progress (probably our biggest complaint about the Wii Fit games, not enough progression).

I do wish we could download more songs directly to the game, although it does evidently include the songs from HDP 1 & 2 (not sure if I've figured out how to unlock them or not). All in all I'm having a blast with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Real music! March 10, 2011

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Although I thought DDR2 was 'the hottest party' -- I enjoy DDR3 a bit more, being that it uses the REAL singers/musicians versions of the songs. DDR2 uses remade mixes of songs, so actually hearing Lady Gaga, New Kids, Black Eye Peas, Duran Duran, etc. on DDR 3 is a lot more fun for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Some good songs on here March 2, 2011

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
There's definitely a few good catchy songs that I like to dance to on this version. Some of the songs though...for me they are either too slow or just not something I would like to listen to. I do miss some of the old techno songs that were in early versions of ddr, they were always fats paced and really made you move around. The popular songs they include are nice, but I wouldn't mind some of those older songs. Especially since some of the popular songs don't lend themselves to ddr that much.

Overall though, it's definitely a fun way to get a short workout in!

2.0 out of 5 stars Meh April 30, 2011
Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
If you are used to the regular wii DDR game then this game is going to seem too easy for you. I had just gotten used to the symbols on the other game and accustomed to multi-tasking with my arms and legs but you don't have to work so hard with this game. I also found it a little confusing that the symbols are basically the same when they want you to use your hands as when they want you to use your legs and the dancers on the screen don't appear to be doing the moves that the player needs to do to get points. I'm sure this game wouldnt be so disappointing if I hadn't already had expectations based on regual DDR.

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
We bought it as a birthday gift for our 12 years old daughter.
She takes 5 dance classes a week. She finds it challenging. It makes her sweat.
We are happy with it because the game meets our expectations of been challenging and a good cardiovascular workout. We want our daughter to have fun in a healthy way.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE DDR August 3, 2011

I LOVE DDR! I used this mainly as an alternative to working out on my wii fit and I think it's great! My heart definitely gets pumping! I only wish the songs would change up, but it's still pretty decent. I usually only play the workout mode so I can burn a certain amount of calories.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not an improvement over DDR2 February 5, 2011

Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
I have ddr2 but was getting bored with the songs so thought this would be a good change. Have only played a few times since purchase, but so far doesn't seem to have the same hand controller options. Almost seems like a step backwards. Maybe I just need to unlock some more options to get the hand waives back?!

It does not register the arm movements very well, DDR Wii is better at that. The songs awkwardly cut off part way through. The music video are pretty amusing I guess. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars NOTE- you need additional items to play this game
Fun game but it doesn't work well unless on a hard surface. Don't try to use it on carpet. Also know that you will need to purchase this extra item to be able to play the game.
