About the Artist

A graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, multi-instrumentalist Adam Good has lived in New York City since 1996. With a foundation in jazz guitar, Adam has lent his inventive sound to many downtown projects and has performed at the venues The Knitting Factory, Tonic, alt.coffee, and CBGB's Gallery. His talent on the tambura (small lute-like instrument) playing Macedonian and Bulgarian folk music and ud and cümbüs playing other folk musics has made Adam a fixture of New York's Balkan music scene; as a member of Harmonia, the Macedonian Izvorno-style ensembles 9 Olives, Izgori and Bulgarian Kolevi 6 he has performed at Hungarian House, Zlatne Uste's annual Golden festival, Balkan Cabaret, D.C.'s Kennedy Center and Philadelphia Folk Festival.

5.0 out of 5 stars magnificent!, March 17, 2005
This review is from: Dances of Macedonia and the Balkans (Audio CD)
As a macedonian, an avid listener and understander of macedonian folklore, and as a folk dance instructor and choreographer i am shocked at how well Adam Good and his team of american musicians were able to produce such an outsanding album. With the dynamic strumming of the "tambura" and the peaceful sounds of the "kaval" such relaxing and famous traditional melodies from macedonia and (some)bulgaria are created. this album has surpassed my expectations i have no regrets that i purchased it. I am inparticular fascinated by the way foreigners explore and express the culture i have grown up with...track 14 there is even singing in macedonian! Good is good.
