5.0 out of 5 stars Godwin exposes the plan to bring Antichrist through rock.
In Dancing With Demons we look at how Satan and his demons ensnare young souls through rock music. He not only looks at backward masking and the occult connections of many stars (e.g. Led Zeppelin and Heart) but he also reveals what really happens at so-called "Christian Rock" concerts. A must read.

One of the last verses in the Bible says not to take away from or add to anything written in it. I have no doubt that Jeff is a God fearing man and a genuine believer who only wants to help people, but he and others like him are compromised badly and misleading others. I honor and respect anyone who has a conviction on anything and honors it but I have a problem with people who take their opinions to the Bible, force them in it and insist to others that they're right and everyone else is wrong. Thats pride at its ugliest. This guy has been refuted over and over as well as others who are in this belief system.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jeff Godwin is the man with the plan...yeah right, April 16, 1999

I must say that Jeff Godwin is the man with the plan .His book is actually an incredible and powerful thing to read if you are looking for something to laugh at . I almost fell over laughing at the part about John Lennon's mysterious connection with the number 8 or something like that . But , if you are actually looking for a book about Rock Music being Satanic (and you believe that that is true) , then I prescribe this book as well . Take note that my 5-Star rating is because I had such a good time laughing at his accusations and not because I believed what he said . Although I must admit , Godwin did his homework when he wrote this " masterpiece " . He tells of hundreds of reasons why Rock Music is evil. ( One chapter is devoted to explaining how Musicians died .) I also must admit ... I stole the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jeff Godwin's sencond book about Satanic music, May 25, 1998

In Jeff's second atempt, he remains to to character and creates a book just as good as his first (The Devil's Deciples). It just a little redundant, but there is alot of new material covered. Again, I believe Jeff is the most fundamentally sound authoir on this subject. All his books are a must get if this type of discussions intrest you.

2.0 out of 5 stars Give me a break!, March 31, 2009
This review is from: Dancing With Demons: The Music's Real Master (Paperback)
Jeff Godwin is an embarassment to Christians. Half of what he says in this book is not true. KISS does NOT stand for "KIngs in Satan's Service," or indeed anything. Gene Simmons has constantly explained that it means nothing more than that thing you do with your lips, and that they wanted a name that everyone can relate to. And I have been to two KISS concerts, and there has never been any altar call to Satan. Satan wasn't even mentioned at any of these concerts. The song "Hotel California" is not about the Church of Satan, and that is NOT Anton LeVay's face on the album cover (it was actually a black woman who was still a bit hung over). I have been to three Stryper concerts, and they ALWAYS glorify Christ. I have been to one Petra concert, and they have NOT done or said anything that even remotely glorifies satan. Furthermore, how can anyone take this guy seriously when he actually says in this book that rock stars are actually demons incarnated into flesh. Only a complete moron would believe that! If that were true, then all one would have to do is to rebuke one of these "demons" in the name of Jesus, and they would disappear back to the abyss. Rock stars are human! I have read this book, and The Devil's Disciples. His words are full of utter nonsense, and full of hatred for these guys. He acts as if these rock stars are worse than the Taliban or Al-Queda! He publically mocks them for how their faces look, which isn't very Christian of him, since that is how God made them to look. For instance, there is a picture of KISS, with the caption, "Which is uglier, their faces, or their music?" He calls Ozzy Osbourne a "human geek." Would Jesus behave like that? I don't think so! But I think He would call Jeff a hypocrite or a son of a viper. In this book (or the previous one) he writes about how after an album is recorded, they call up a demon to bless the music. Is this guy serious??? If that were the case, then every single rock record ever recorded would be a huge hit, and that is clearly not the case! St. Anger, anyone??? And why would any rock star encourage their fans to kill themselves, since it is the fans that keep them in business? If that were really true, then these rock stars would soon be out of a job, since there would be no one left to buy their albums.

Now I am not saying that rock stars are angels. Of course many of them live decadent lifestyles. But then, so do many bankers, teachers, doctors, lawyers, and day care workers. Jeff Godwin should ask himself, WWJD--what would Jesus do? Would He condemn these rock stars and call them names? Or would he reach out to them, and be more concerned with their salvation than with how long their hair is, or what kind of music they play?

And by the way, if there really was such a thing as satanic music, why would satan wait thousands of years to use it? And why hasn't God said anything about it in the Bible? If something was evil or sinful, God made sure we knew about it. Yet, in the issue of music, God has said nothing about any "evil music." Hmmm---could that be because music in and of itself is not evil? Can it be used in evil ways? Of course! Anything can! But there is no music that is evil in and of itself. If there were, God would have warned us about it, just as He has warned us about everything else that is evil.

I will say one thing about his books, they are mostly amusing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this book, December 15, 2010

Jeff Goodwin has done more in the last 20 years to lead people away from Christ with this horrible book.

It's sad that he attacks Christian Rock music in this book and others when Christian Rock music is one of the main avenues that people young and old over the last 20 years have come to know Christ through.

Any Christian who has their doubts about Christian Rock bands or popular Christian recording artists should do the research themselves and see what popular bands like Kutless are doing at Christian Rock concerts to lead people to Christ. Just go to Youtube and look up these bands for yourself instead of believing the word of this writer or someone else who told you something that you never bothered to research for yourself.

I read this book in the late 80's. The book, at my parents house, is filled with liner notes from myself, debunking this book using scripture and common sense. Jeff "knows not what he is talking about". He uses paper-thin assumptions to "indict" real Christian artists as being devil worshippers. PUH-LEASE!!!

The funniest story is how he writes to now-defunct Enigma Records (Strypers label). He USES HIS WIFES NAME, then claims he takes the bibles admonition to be"sly like a fox, humble like sheep" very seriously. HUH? What a coward!! Perhaps he believes the demons will now attack his wife for writing Enigma, instead of attacking him.

Waste of paper. Perforate this book and put it on a roll.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dancing with Demons: A Tremendously powerful book for teens, June 16, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Dancing With Demons: The Music's Real Master (Paperback)
Dancing with Demons is really a powerful book. It shows briefly the connection between Voodoo and Rock and Roll. It also points out that "Christian" rock is not anointed of God, for Rock and Roll is filthy and rotten and cannot be CHRISTIANIZED! This book is a must for pastors, youth leaders, and parents.

Very thoroughly researched subject matter and very informative on the dangers of rock music to the Christian culture. All research is backed up by facts so nobody can dispute the evidence! Very good...too bad it is out of print!
