5.0 out of 5 stars Encouraging, Informative and Helpful, February 6, 2004
This review is from: Dancing With the Diagnosis: Steps for Taking the Lead When Facing Cancer (Paperback)
Ms. Waters provides a unique perspective of dealing with a very personal topic. Being a cancer survivor myself, she offered insights on ways to deal with the stress, frustration, and fear of dealing with cancer in simple terms. I encouraged my family to read it as well, and they found it informative and valuable. It helped them to understand the thoughts and feelings of what I was going through, when I could not always express them adequately myself.
Ms. Waters gives numerous ideas and excersises for the reader to help cope with the multitude of issues and emotions that someone fighting cancer encounters every day.
I reccomend it to anyone who is facing (or has faced cancer), as well as relatives and friends of cancer "fighters".

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative, innovative, courageous!, November 7, 2003

This review is from: Dancing With the Diagnosis: Steps for Taking the Lead When Facing Cancer (Paperback)
This book is a MUST for anyone diagnosed with a potentially life-threatening illness or anyone related to, or friends with, such a person. The author bravely discloses her personal account of being diagnosed, in the prime of her life, with such an illness and uses her highly refined communication skills to teach people in similar circumstances how to deal with the emotional aspects of this situation. The book is very helpful in giving people a more assertive position during a time when so many things must feel like they are out of their control.

Special attention is paid suggesting ways family and friends can be of assistance during this difficult journey and the level of optimism this book reads with is reassuring to anyone facing similar circumstances. Obviously, I highly recommend this book!

This review is from: Dancing With the Diagnosis: Steps for Taking the Lead When Facing Cancer (Paperback)
DANCING WITH THE DIAGNOSIS is a powerful, inspiring personal story of how Michelle Walters conquered cancer. In her journal you learn how choosing to embrace whatever happens to you can make the difference between being a martyr or a miracle. You also learn how selecting the words you use to describe what is happening can convert adversity into a gift. DANCING WITH THE DIAGNOSIS is a powerful account of a heroic inner journey from a near-death experience to joyous transformation.
