Excellent music/collaboration,

I have a few CDs by/with R Carlos Nakai, William Eaton and Will Clipman. I ordered this one because of the three of them and knew it would be a great addition. I was right -- the sound is great as each musician adds their stylings to each song. The music flows and blends together very well. The first time I listened to this CD I was lulled by it so much, that I lost track of time. The additional times that I've listened to just makes me listen even deeper (as well as in a more brightly lit room to stay more alert) trying to find the subtle tones and nuances. I hope they put previews of the music on Amazon so everyone can at least sample it. That would be the only true justice to these tracks.
If you like these guys or Native American flute music in general, I think you'll love this CD. It's already one of my favorites and I've only had a couple days.

Transports the listener into a soundscape that reflects the mysteries of infinity,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dancing Into Silence (Audio CD)
Dancing into Silence is a collaborative, instrumental album blending the work R. Carlos Nakai on the Native American flute, William Eaton on the harp guitar, and Will Clipman playing a diversity of world ethnic percussion. The result is a unique experience that transports the listener into a soundscape that reflects the mysteries of infinity. An extraordinarily beautiful and everlastingly memorable collection, highly recommended to music lovers intrigued by the prospect of something different. The tracks are "Ancient Awakening" (4:50), "Sun Path" (5:05), "Winged Iridescence" (5:10), "A Breath of Peace" (3:51), "Down to Earth" (3:35), "Radiance" (4:06), "Dancing into Silence" (4:51), "Man in the Maze" (3:11), "Reflections in an Emerald Pool" (4:13), "Horses in the Rain" (5:04), "Havasupai Lullabye" (4:44), "Whispers of the Wind" (4:19), "Memory's Children" (4:46), and "The Way Home" (2:07).

Musical Freedom,
By
This review is from: Dancing Into Silence (Audio CD)
This is a very rare album. The artists here have managed to create a space that is highly intuitive and improvisational but extremely disciplined in it's structure and restraint. The result is something that floats freely between the spirit realm and our own without boundaries.
These are not tunes you are likely to go around whistling all day. They require close attention while listening and even then you'll keep hearing new things in this "minimalist" recording. From the bright and joyous "Reflections in an Emerald Pool", to the hauntingly mysterious "Whispers of the Wind", the integrity of this collaboration is apparent. I'm happy to note that you'll find no synthesizers here...just three masters having an instrumental conversation.

I'm not particularly knowledgeable about music, but I like the sound and ambience of the Native American flute. I also enjoy ethnic percussion, having participated in a drum circle. So I purchased this CD from Amazon specifically to listen to on my recent drive from New Mexico to Sedona, Arizona, thinking it would be an appropriate accompaniment. It's a remarkable album, varied and always interesting. The liner notes about how it was made are detailed and add understanding to pleasure.

This is a must have CD for anyone who is a fan of Native American Flute. Nakai is, as always, sensational. This music takes you back to another time--you can feel your soul soaring. The music revives you after a hard day. Great music; great CD.

I play "Dancing into Silence" when I do therapeutic yoga with children. It is my favorite CD as it does not compete with consciousness, but rather, enriches and supports whatever you might be doing, (or not doing), while listening.
