I love this album. It is a classic in my book. I think that if you are a fan of the Jackson 5 this is one of the best albums to get.

I love this CD by the Jackson Five. I love how their musical tones come together and I just love the instrumentation. I can't help but to want to get up and dance and sing myself. But then I have been a fan of the Jacksons for several years. I recommend for those who are fans of the Jacksons, or even if you're not, why not try something new?

"I Am Love" is classic. Jermaine's soulful, bluesy vocals at the beginning, Michaels ad-libs at the end, and the smoking electric guitar throughout. Classic. "Whatever You Got I Want" is another great one, and "What You Don't Know" would have made a great single. The ballads on here are nice also, my favorite being "If I Don't Love You This Way". Of course we all know "Dancing Machine", and every time I hear it, I see Michael tearing up stage doing the robot. Nice to see the J5's back catalogue getting released on CD one by one, with the orignal artwork, rather than the "two for one" that were released a few years back.

Do The Robot With The J5,

On Dancing Machine The Jackson 5 continued to mine the disco sounds they started exploring on Get It Together. The album starts off on a different note though with the stellar "I Am Love". The song starts off slow and bluesy with Jermaine singing over an electric piano before descending into a fiery ending as Michael takes over the lead vocals. It is one of the highlights off their Motown career. They get back into the dancing mood on the popping "Whatever You Got, I Want" and the kinetic "She's A Rhythm Child". The title track appears in a remixed version that soared all the way to number two on the charts. The rest of the album is a solid collection of danceable numbers.

Well, well, it's about time Motown got off their rear ends and started releasing at least some of their material on cd, especially the Jackson Five material. This title was probably their best recording title of the early seventies when they were named the Jackson Five. "Dancing Machine" was the huge hit off of this album, but the song "I Am Love" is the track that stands out to me sho nuff. There is still one J5 album messing on disc. And it is entitled "The Third Album". That album contained songs such as "The Love I Saw In You Was Just A Mirage and Ready Or Not" which is a remake of the Delfonics earlier recording. This is a start Motown, now you guys need to start re-releasing all of your other artist self titled recording material on compact disc.

Only two real good cuts on this one. The title track and the long version of "I am love". This is the only reason to purchase this one.The rest, is truly forgetable. |
