Book Description

March 4, 2003 Confessions of Georgia Nicolson
Once more I am beyond the Valley of the Confused and treading lightly in the Universe of the Huge Red Bottom. What is the matter with me? I love the Sex God and he is my one and only, but try telling that to my lips.

Georgia has finally put her red-bottomosity to rest and chosen Robbie the Sex God over Dave the Laugh. After all, with the Sex God she'll be a pop-star girlfriend and go on tour! Besides, Dave the Laugh is now dating her friend Ellen (although that didn't stop Georgia from snogging him at a party ... ).

But when the Sex God is never around and Dave the Laugh breaks up with Ellen, Georgia doesn't know what to think! Is she doomed to be a pop-star widow, or will she take her own bottom firmly in hand and blow her cosmic horn? And will her cat, Angus (the size of a small Labrador, only mad), ever get over the shame of having his trouser snake addendums snipped? As always, in Georgia's life, nothing ever turns out as planned!

Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 7-9-Fans of this self-absorbed teen won't be disappointed in this latest installment of her journal, which contains more of the same humor and detailed observations of the minutiae of adolescent life found in the first three books. However, the teen's total "shallowosity" can be somewhat tiresome. By the fourth book, one might hope for growth of her character, along with her "nunga-nungas" (breasts). Plot-wise, this book picks up where the last one left off. Georgia is still in love with Robbie, the SG (sex god), but is increasingly confused by her feelings for Dave-the-Laugh. Temporary distractions include her cat Angus impregnating a feline across the road, a class trip to Paris, and being made captain of the hockey team. But-"sadnosity"-at novel's end, the SG is off to Kiwi-a-gogo land (New Zealand) to work on an ecological farm. Georgia will be left alone with Dave-the-Laugh. Clearly, further confessions are on the way.

From Booklist

Gr. 7-10. The fourth and ("probably") final entry into Georgia Nicolson's diary is as loopy and laugh filled as ever. The plot? Well, if it matters, Georgia has chosen Robby the Sex God over Dave the Laugh, and lots of good snogging ensues. But Georgia continues to experience red-bottomisity, as other boys besides Robby look good to her. Subplots? Angus the cat has gotten the kitty across the street pregnant, despite having his "trouser snake addendums" removed. True, this doesn't sound like much, but in the hands of Rennison, it's hysterical. Most of the fun stuff comes from the language, of course, and once again a glossary is provided for those who don't know their "conk" (nose) from their "bum-oley" ("quite literally their bottom hole"). The book also is permeated by a manic energy coupled with an utter disdain that pretty much says teenager. Bye-bye, Georgia; we'll miss you dancing in front of the open window in your nuddy-pants. Dancing in my Nuddy-Pants, Louise Rennison, 0-06-009746-9

"Georgia thought she had finally put her "red-bottomosity" to rest when she chose Robbie the Sex God over Dave the Laugh, but now she's not so sure. Is she doomed to be a pop-star widow, or will she take her own bottom firmly in hand? As always, in this fourth book about Georgia's angst-filled confessions, nothing ever turns out as planned!"

Taking place in her home land of England, Georgia's back again in the fourth book in her series, bringing along her wacky adventures of living as an English teen. As you read the series, you will get to know Georgia's character, she a bit of everything ;spontaneous, out going, funny, rude, self-obsessed, difficult, but most of all, she has a good heart. But now, time has gone by and Georgia has learned to mature up, or has she? No, not a chance, Georgia is the same crazy girl she has always been, with the exception of having a Sex god (a.k.a. Robbie) for a boyfriend. All was going well until Robbie had to travel around to promote his record. With Robbie away Georgia is left alone, boyfriend-less, while her friends go out with their boyfriends. Georgia secretly starts to actually have feelings for her ex-boyfriend, Dave the Laugh. This can't be possible, Dave the Laugh is going out with her friend Ellen. Georgia's way of trying to settle things, never turns out as planned! This genre is non-fiction narrative, but it's hilarious. It takes you along on the bazaar journey of Georgia Nicolson's English life.

Dancing in my Nuddy-Pants was a real page turner because every page leads you to a funny event that is going to occur to Georgia, and you'll just want to keep on finding out what bad thing is going to happen to her next. The author makes Georgia seem like a normal person, but the some of the events that happen to her are so embarrassing and hilarious at the same time, that it makes Georgia's life seem so unbelievable, and it even makes you want to be embarrassed for her. The style of writing the author uses is very creative, it's written as if it were Georgia's diary which makes even more fun to read. I really recommend this book to girls that are in seventh grade or older, and that have a good sense of humor. I think it's a great book for all girls, whether they like reading or not. I think no matter how much you don't like to read, this book will really get to you, and you'll end up liking it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another hilarious book of "Even Further Confessions", March 10, 2003
This review is from: Dancing in My Nuddy-Pants: Even Further Confessions of Georgia Nicolson (Library Binding)
Being a loyal fan of Georgia, I found myself excited and eager to dive into her funny world of snogging, ______-a-gogoland, and the ace gang. I found myself both entertained as well as empathetic to the "sex queen" through out the whole book.

Although it's been a while since the last book, I was shocked to find out how much of the story fit right back into place. Louise Renninson does a fantastic job at bringing the book back to the audience and it makes for a very nice and easy read.

Overall, this book is good, fun reading and it works best when read with the preceeding books. I recomend it for anyone who has a sence of humor and can laugh at a cute, dim-witted 15 year old sweetheart. Bravo!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fourth Book and Still Laughing!!, January 8, 2004

"baxterbutt8873" (Scottsdale, AZ USA) - See all my reviews
Fourteen-year-old Georgia lives in London. She attends an all-girls school, but doesn't take it very seriously, as she is always finding some way to mock her teachers. She has four best friends that attend the same school she does: Jas, Jools, Ellen, and Rosie. Unfortunately for Georgia, her parents are a bit on the loony side. Her mother has boobs the size of watermelons and is a stay-at-home mother, although she doesn't do: doesn't clean dishes, doesn't cook meals, doesn't care for the house. The only thing she does do is take care of Georgia's little sister, Libby. Libby is, in simplest words, a child gone wrong. She pees in any corner she wants to of Georgia's room, she hides her dirty diapers in Georgia's bed, she has food such as potatoes and beans as dolls, and she has the speech patterns and impediments of a one-year-old. As for Georgia's father, he is a business man who is very strict, uptight, and "in his own world." Georgia's cat Angus is a half Scottish, half domestic cat that is the size of a small Labrador, only insane. Every night and day he teases and taunts the next-door neighbor's two miniature poodles. He has a mysterious "lair" at the back of Georgia's closet, where he strategizes his next attack. He also has a love affair with the neighbors across the street's prize Burmese cat Naomi. They both love each other, Georgia says, but her dad and the neighbors can't stand Angus and want to get him fixed, as in the last book. He proudly still has his "trouser snake addendums"!

Georgia is still faced with her dilemma from the last book, choosing between the sex god and Dave the Laugh. The sex god, Georgia's boyfriend for a good time now, is at least four years older than her, is the lead singer in his rock band, who have a good chance of getting a contract, has great snogging skills, is absolutely gorgeous and fit, makes Georgia go "jelliod" and unable to form comprehendible sentences while with him, and is a SEX GOD, was Georgia's first choice over Dave. However, Dave is just as fit and almost as good-looking as the sex god is. But Dave has twice the humor the sex god has, if the sex god has any at all. Georgia feels like she doesn't have to worry about what she says or does around Dave because she doesn't have to worry about impressing him, like she does the sex god.

For now, Georgia has chosen the sex god, thinking she can just forget about Dave the Laugh...but she is completely wrong!

I loved this book just as much as I loved the previous three - I didn't dare put it down for fear of not knowing what happened next. I really enjoyed the British words Rennison used in the context of the book; there was a glossary at the end to define the British terms the reader didn't understand - even the definitions were hilarious!
