Since DWTS is starting today (Monday, September 19th), and X-Factor is starting this Wednesday (Simon and Paula reunite), I'm starting this thread for any one who wants to discuss the shows.

Hep,
I'm not big on DWTS either, but many folks who post here are. I am kind of excited about X-Factor.

Simon on Tonight show this evening...he described Paula with affection...said she is like a little lost dog who is sent to the pound..when you reunite, the dog is all smiles because his owner has showed up....yikes!...classic Simon,he got booed a little for that story..hep.

I saw a little bit of that show after the initial interview. Simon is so nervous when it comes to live interviews, constantly drinks from the cup they provide him. He did that the last time he was on Leno's show, too. He's not a smooth operator like Adam and doesn't seem to say the right things.

HEPHAESTION says:
I agree..you could tell he was nervous,he is better playing a judge..he can hide himself in that persona...hep.

Paula was on TV to promote X-Factor, and she looked so adorable. She never seems to age.

Paula was also in a little skit the other night with Jane Lynch (Emmys), and she was so tiny and with her costume on, I did not even recognize her !! Jane Lynch is a TALL woman.

I just don't like that Rob Kardashian --seems arrogant. I wanted to like him and feel sorry for him being a part of that crazy family.
David Arquette and Carson are funny and cute.
Ricki Lake--she is a contender
I was surprised by George Clooney's girlfriend--thought she would be good but is not based on last night.
Chaz --you have to give it to him, he has some rhythm--has to be the musical parents influence--I hope Cher comes to one of the shows--maybe she will perform.
That basketball guy--he may be going tonight unless his guy fans rally around him and voted last night. He was terrible.
Dear Nancy Grace--hope she sticks around for a while to see if she gets better.

I have never liked that Rob guy,he is living off his sisters fame...be a man, carve out your own life..yikes,if i was stranded on a island with this young man i would proceed to strangle my own self or drown myself in the surf...hep.

I will be doing my best to catch the X-Factor tonight,i hope some of you will also..i will be interested in your overhaul impression of the show compared to idol...i am looking forward to the show,i still think the biggest mistake idol ever made was letting Paula go,it is one of the reasons Simon left...it will be good to see them back together, they are good team..and that is more i can say about the current judges table at idol...hep.

Hep, it is set up on my dvr. I am looking forward to it. I will try to watch it, but I have an especially early day tomorrow.

I set my DVR for X Factor too because I will be staying overnight at my daughter's home tonight. When I set it the write up said that these are going to be the auditions, so I guess the X Factor uses the same setup as Idol.

That Rachel was outstanding and had loads of personality. The only thing I wonder, will the audience become annoying with the constant cheering during the performances?
