When the items in the tank of my commode began to deteriorate after 41 years of use, I had a plumber replace the entire interior unit. Sure enough, the toilet tank lever was made of plastic and lasted only a couple of months. Found the Danco unit on-line, made of chrome and brass, and figured it would make it another 41 years. Good-bye plastic, hello chrome and brass. I am a 78 year old woman and was able to install it myself. I am really happy with the unit.

The original lever on my toilet was plastic and lasted 7 years. Given that this one is solid metal, I don't see it ever wearing out!

I needed to replace my broken toilet handle and this product fit the bill. It was the right price and stylish too! I installed the handle in about 20 minutes. It made me happy that I was able to "do it myself" so easily. Lablady2 of Michigan

As much as I liked this handle and enjoyed the easy installation....Mine broke, and I'm a licensed plumber. I bought this specifically for an old toilet that had a very sticky flush mechanism. (I will admit, I should have rebuilt the toilet, but thought maybe a strong handle would get me by...it is in my own home, so at least I could try) Installing the product was just as I figured and actually a little easy than expected. And the item appeared to be very strong, as that is why I selected it, as it had all metal construction. But within a day the handle itself broke. The handle lever appears to be two pieces of chromed pot metal of some sort with one part screwed into another. (You don't do this, it comes this way and had it not broke, I would have thought it was once piece). So it broke. As the say a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Now I will say the handle had to endure some stress for the application I chose, so for me it did not work. But, for a newer toilet without my problem, this is a very nice handle. Very adaptable to any application. I was just hoping for all brass construction. Guess those days are over. (I've been in the plumbing trade over 30 years) But this is probably the best in this price range, and I would actually use it if I was updating a bath room that had a newer toilet. Most other options are quite expensive and I doubt they are built any better. This is a good versatile handle.

It works with my toilet, however, the weight on the lever isn't adjustable. I have to hold the handle down while the toilet flushes so the entire water tank empties into the bowl. My old plastic handle would allow me to release the handle after pressing it down and it wouldn't go back up (close tank from bowl) until the tank had almost completely emptied into the bowl. Otherwise, the product appears to be very sturdy and will last a life time. I'll try attaching a small weight to resolve the reported issue.

The lever came on time and it didn't take too long to attach to the toilet. It works nice and it looks better than the plastic one, that was originally on the toilet. I'm satisfied with the product. I don't have any complaints.

El Cheapo handles broken several times. This one is heavy duty and looks as if it will last awhile.

This is tank lever is about the best you can buy. It is all metal (corrosion resistant) construction. It will last the life of your toilet, unlike my previous plastic handle. Very easy to install - it took me about a minute.

I am impressed with this product and will buy it again when my next japcrap handle fails. I have a rental property and I used to install the cheap plastic handles made in China or Japan or Malaysia, or Indonesia etc. Not any more. This thing is SOLID and wreaks of quality. Spend the extra money on this one and you will not have to replace it in 18 months. Highly recommended.

Pros:
Well-built. Very Well-built. All metal, no plastic parts as far as I can tell. Very reasonably priced. Fit with only minor adjustments.

Cons:
None for me, I just wish it was easier to locate on Amazon.

Other Thoughts:
The handle fit into my compact Mansfield toilet with only a little bending of the rod in the tank. I would definitely buy this again. It's priced super reasonably and the quality is more than I ever would have imagined.

I recommend buying one proactively for all the toilets in your house. Then you won't have to buy a cheap hold-over handle at the hardware store that only lasts two days. Plus, who knows how long they will keep making this handle with this level of quality--the brands at Big Box Mart get made more cheaply every week. Buy, Buy, Buy!
