Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 3-5 A sequel to Black Suits from Outer Space (Putnam, 1985), this book standsor rather, totterson its own. Calvin and Kathy are back, and this time they deal with a good alien who appears in the form of a cat (Dandelion of the title); bad aliens, in the form of giant lizards; a shrinking space ship; and an invisibility gadget that doesn't work too wellits alien owners are inept engineers. With the help of Dandelion and their Uncle Hal, Calvin and Kathy rout the baddies. Unless your readers loved the first book, direct young science fiction/fantasy fans to Williams and Abrashkin's Danny Dunn (Archway), Beatty's Matthew Looney (Avon), and Slobodkin's The Space Ship Under the Apple Tree (Macmillan, 1971). 3.0 out of 5 stars The Dandelion Caper, February 16, 2000
This review is from: Dandelion Caper, The (Paperback)
The Dandelion Caper

Kathy Entsminger and Calvin Wille Ford are two kids who have saved many aliens or "suits." These "suits" are alien people from outer space who came to earth just to look around, but don't think all aliens are good ones because they run into some pretty mean ones at the old Diefenbacher Place. The aliens at the Diefenbacher Place are invisible green lizards. Kathy and Calvin found their cat, Dandelion at Diefenbacher Place. Dandelion turns out to be an alien leader whose collar is her space ship. Dandelion seems to know Calvin's Uncle Harold very well. The lizard aliens capture dandelion and Calvin's mom. Uncle Harold drives over to Calvin's house to pick him up and he also goes to get Kathy. You'll have to read the book to see what else happens. I didn't really like the book that much, but if I had been younger I would have loved it! If you like sci-fi you'll probably like this book. It did keep my interest however. I give it a 3 star rating!
