Incredible distortion, no radio signals for me!,
By
This review is from: Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion Effects Pedal (Electronics)
This is my second Dano pedal, and I am VERY satisfied with my purchase. It has three knobs, Level, Tone, and Distortion.
I noticed if I turned the Dist all the way up, and the Level a little past half way, and the Tone all the way up, I got a Ramones and Green Day type sound, but when I turned the tone down, I got a very nice Smashing Pumpkins sound. So this pedal can do nice punk rock sounds, and hard rock sounds with the turn of a knob. I saw the post about this pedal picking up radio signals, but I picked up absolutely NO signals. All the radio signal stuff is just interference. Notice how on many electronics they say on them, this device must except any interference? Radio is interference. I think it just depends on what room your in, in your house. I've had electronics that work perfectly in all my rooms, except when they got close to the bathroom, and then I picked up a radio station. My only complaint is the pedals instruction manual says a 9 volt battery is included, but their wasn't one in the box. My other Dano pedal I bought came with one, but not this one. So make sure you have a 9 volt battery because this might not come with one. So I give this 5 stars. I didn't really mind that whole battery thing. And the pedal is perfect. And it's affordable! I highly recommend this.

One of the best distortion pedals,
This review is from: Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion Effects Pedal (Electronics)
Over the years I've tried many distortion pedals and I could not be happier with this one! It is responsive but not overbearing. Don't be fooled by its price or size. I used it through my Fender HotRod Deluxe and this pedal offers a warm full tone and it really can rip. I highly recomend this pedal for those who don't want to throw down $150 for a Tube-Screamer.

Great range of tones and feel,

I have been impressed with the range of tones I can get from this little box. Much more clean and versitile than the overdrive function built into my frontman amp. I hasn't picked up any stray signals on me.
Cons: 9V battery dies quickly (if you forget and leave the thing on overnight...)

I bought this pedal because I didn't want to spend a lot of money for a distortion effect. This pedal does the trick without breaking the bank.
I use mine with a 9-volt battery (the pedal doesn't come with a wall plug adapter) and the only trouble I've had is remembering to unplug the cables to keep from draining the battery. When the time comes to purchase a different effects pedal, I will buy more from this line.

Better than my amp's overdrive.,

I bought this effects pedal new at a reduced price.
The Danelectro D1 Fab distortion pedal is much better than my M15 amp's overdrive function! This pedal provides long sustain and the three knobs-Level, Tone, and Distortion work well in shaping the sound. I really like the "dirty" distortion that I get. Don't let the plastic construction fool you. Does anyone actually stomp on these pedals? I find the pedal to be durable and the button works easy enough. Regarding another reviewer's observation about battery inclusion, I didn't receive a battery in the carton either. I have no regrets about purchasing this Danelectro pedal and would recommend it.

An excellent Pedal, particularly for beginners,
This review is from: Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion Effects Pedal (Electronics)
This is my first distortion pedal-up until now, I have used my built-in amp overdrive for distortion. Now that I have this pedal, I wonder how I got by before. The pedal is well made, and seems very durable. The switch is sensitive enough to be activated without stomping it, which is good, as the pedal is plastic. There are two small issues: the manual is not clear as to the maximum vs minimum settings are on the knobs, which makes first use a guessing game. Also, the inside of the pedal is very exposed, making it seem easy to damage the circuitry within. Overall, a solid first pedal.

this is a great effect pedal, it sound is great, but don't let the picture fool you its really not as big as it looks but it is easy to carry and a great first effect pedal. so all in all this is a great pedal with a great sound.(o and make sure you have 2 cables one to connect the guitar to the pedal and another to get the pedal to the amp)

When I first saw this pedal, I was skeptical about purchasing and trying this pedal out. When I first saw the pedal, there were no reviews. This time, my second mind was correct! This low cost addition to the electric guitar is Mind Blowingly Fantastic. I could not believe how wonderfully clear and boss the sound effects put out for such an economical item. I am so Happy I decided to give this pedal a try. The construction and sound speaks for itself. You will not regret this one . THANK YOU so much Danelectra Dale Carter

IMMENSE value! Sounds WAY more expensive than it is!,

I have an old classic 'Silvertone' tubed amplifier with reverb, used mainly for blues and some hard rock playing. I needed a low-cost solution to get a much fatter, overdriven sound with great sustain, and this 'Fab Distortion' pedal more than fits the bill. Using a Fender 'Telecaster' and an old Ibanez 'Roadster Series' guitar, I am able to get a cleaner sounding sustained sound good for bluesy hard rock, as well as a more overdriven, fuller metal crunch sound that works well for playing stuff like Rush, Sabbath, Dio, Schenker, Malmsteen, etc. This thing has amazing range and versatility for the money! My jaw dropped when I found out these could be had for under twenty bills!

So, I bought this for a pop punk band: sounds amazing, light weight, etc. What everyone else said, plus the fact that after a few shows/months, the input went loose on the inside and doesn't work anymore. It appeared to slowly stop working, but I didn't use it that often the first few months I got it and it was past the 45 day limit. I'm still looking to replace it, but I'm not sure I'd buy another one due to my experience.
