part of a series, October 13, 2006
This review is from: The Danger Within (Faith at the Crossroads, Book 2) (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #15) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is part of the "Faith at the Crossroads" series and as such is not supposed to reveal all the secrets or tie up all the loose ends, except where the hero and heroine of this particular book are concerned. I think the author did a good job considering the rules she had to follow.

Boss,
My reporter's nose smells a story brewing at the Double V Ranch. Word is that rancher Michael Vance has already lost several cows to a mystery ailment. This isn't the first odd thing to happen there, either -- Michael's old foreman disappeared out of the blue, and his new one, Hector Delgato, is cagey. He bears watching. Meanwhile, Michael hired newcomer Layla Dixon as the housekeeper/vet while his injured housekeeper recovers, and the bohemian beauty is nothing like meat-and-potatoes Michael. I think romance might be in the air, but there is also something sinister starting up in Colorado Springs....

CAST OF CHARACTERS
Michael Vance -- His cows kept getting sick and dying. Were they succumbing to disease or was someone poisoning them?
Layla Dixon -- Working as the temporary ranch veterinarian and helping uncover the secrets behind the ailments of the cows kept the bohemian beauty close to Michael.
El Jefe -- Who was the man also known as Chief? What did he have to do with the new influx of drugs into Colorado Springs? And why was he so intent on bringing down the Vance and Montgomery families?
Hector Delgato -- Michael's secretive new foreman was never around whenever bad things happened....

***I am not sure about this book. I felt the beginning to be rather confusing at times and I felt that the ending was rushed with really no conclusion. I was left hanging and was disappointed that I spent the time that I did reading this book. Love Inspired books are usually my favorite reads but this one didn't even rate average for me. The only positive was I liked the two main characters -- quirks and all.

The Danger Within, November 13, 2009
This review is from: The Danger Within (Faith at the Crossroads, Book 2) (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #15) (Mass Market Paperback)
I really enjoyed this second book of the "Faith At The Crossroads" series. The charater interaction was good and the mystery that was present kept me waiting to see what would happen next. It was interesting that a cattle rancher would fall in love with a vegetarian vet who was also his stand in cook.
