This review is from: Danger in the Dark (Hardcover)
I have been a fan of Ms. Eberhardt for years; her books with the nurse detective were excellent. This book, Danger in the Dark, is not quite as good; the detective, Wait, is not a likable character. The heroine is a typical Gothic helpless and nearly airheaded woman. The main attraction is trying to figure out which of the cast is the murderer before Wait does. I must say I was caught flat-footed; I didn't suspect that person! But if you like novels of the '30s era with a well-conceived puzzle, this is a good read.
