Classic Sci-Fi For Children And Teens,

I recall reading this engrossing story when I was in sixth grade. I re- read it again when I was in high school, and it was just as great an experience. It was one of a handful of books that had the most influence on my own writing as an adult. The story revolves around a group of young people who travel back in time, to the age of the dinosaurs. What I remember as singularly unique about the book is the way Marsten had memories of one of the characters slowly dissolve from the minds of the survivors, after he had been killed in the past. I was fascinated by that notion, and the same idea has been utilized in other sci-fi stories, t.v. shows and movies in the years since then. I won't give away too much of the plot, but if you have a youngster who is interested in dinosaurs and time travel, this book will definitely be a treat for them. No matter how old you are, if you are simply looking for a fast-paced, well-written and intriguing tale, then "Danger Dinosaurs" is the book for you.
"Danger Dinosaurs" was written by a man whose birth name was Salvatore Lombino. Richard Marsten was one of many pseudonyms he used as an author. He was a prolific writer, and under the more well-known pseudonym of Evan Hunter, he wrote the best-seller "The Blackboard Jungle," as well as the original screenplay for Alfred Hitchcock's classic film "The Birds."
