Book Description

April 26, 2011
Danger Has A Face

The most dangerous psychopath is the educated, wealthy and socially skilled psychopath. Danger Has a Face identifies psychopaths as the perpetrators of harassment, manipulation, abuse and conflict. These socially skilled psychopaths can be found running companies, in prestigious government appointments, as judges, therapists, in our families, or living next door. However, they are not like normal people. These types of psychopaths do untold damage to us all; they create drama and devastation by abusing loved ones, manipulating others and blaming those consequences on others.

They know they are different. They know they must carefully hide their true nature because others will not accept it. Without being able to recognize them at the onset, they have easy access to prey on us. We are seeing in the news every day the incomprehensible behavior from educated and powerful people; behavior we cannot understand and cannot assign a reason for. We cannot understand that which has not been given a name. This book names and provides the traits of a psychopath so you can identify the psychopath before it is too late!

It has been estimated that 1 out of 20 men and some experts in the field suggest that 1 out of every 10 men is a psychopath. The majority of these psychopaths are not violent criminals. Danger Has a Face gives you the insight and knowledge to be able to spot the psychopath immediately and be able to defend yourself against these predators.

Written with the experience and insight only a survivor of a psychopath can impart, Danger Has a Face is above all a practical book, which could save your life.

The Story of A: I feel paralyzedby the challenge to survive that which is in front of me. I am overwhelmed by his sickness and abusive behavior. I have become numb in order to survive. He controls my emotions and creates panic, confusion and despair for all of us in our home. I have searched for ways to understand what was happening to me in this dangerous relationship. I abandoned myself, as I knew me to be. I unconsciously adapted to a destructive environment through compromise, rejection, and loss of love. I have little left of the identity I use to enjoy.

The Story of M: Iblamed myself for not being able to stop the nightmare. I sensed that something was wrong, but I didn't know enough to know what it was. In a way he punished me most when I was creative, happy and free. I stopped being happy because it made him uncomfortable and rigid. I learned to be more silent, so he would open up. I took on his thoughts and beliefs in an attempt to show him my love. I just wish the therapist had told me he was a psychopath, as I would have been able to know what to expect and know that his behavior was not my fault.

The Story of L: After wasting years, I now know that there is no balance with a psychopath. No common ground. No compromise. My ex-husband is a psychopath who has always been disturbed, reactive and depressed. I have clearly encountered someone who will not leave my children or me alone. His distorted fears, his corrupted idea of righteousness continues to feed the hellish nightmare he brings to bear on my family and me.

The Story of D: I have tried everything that works with 'normal' people thinking I had a chance to help him. I don't think he is like other people. I know this sounds crazy, but he is just different-and not in a good way. I have exhausted myself trying to fix, heal, and make sense of him and this situation I find myself in. The person who is my husband has drained me of my vitality.

More About the Author

The author profiles four different women and their experiences with educated, wealthy and very dangerous psychopaths.

Without understanding the traits of a psychopath, these women believed their lies and thought they could help the psychopath. Once involved, these women's families, careers and health suffered at the hands of vindictive and dangerous psychopaths.

Written with the experience and insight only a survivor can impart, Danger Has a Face is above all, a practical book which could save your life.

Excerpt from Danger Has A Face

" To those of us trapped by a psychopath, our lives seem cruel and each moment makes no sense at all. People who are attached in some form to a psychopath will experience the most painful suffering. They are those among us who silently live their lives trapped. They are those who feel the weight of hopelessness day in and day out."

5.0 out of 5 stars "A small book with a powerful punch." May 19, 2011
By J. Fond
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
In this landmark book, the author provides a compelling look into the destructive relationships a psychopathic partner provides.
The book begins appropriately with the charismatic fall into the spell cast by the psychopath's initial charm. The author then offers ample material which clarifies the difficulty of sustaining a hoped for intimacy. The book then builds to a crescendo with a very well thought out overview of how to extradite oneself from the psychopath's clutches.
The chapter titled, "Our Legal System and the Psychopath", provides rich, sound, and practical advice, a go to chapter for immediate help.
This book will make a deep and enduring impression on all those seeking freedom from relationships of this nature.

Where was this book 10 years ago when I needed it? The information in this book would have helped my children and me. This the first book I've read that gives me a clear understanding of what goes on in the mind of psychopaths. The chapter on Legal Strategies would have helped me in family court!

Danger has a Face...is a must read!

2.0 out of 5 stars They're Not Just Males October 5, 2011
Format:Paperback
I cannot tell from the description if the book limits the discussion about psychopaths to males only or if whoever wrote the description failed to mention females. If the author believes that only males are capable of being psychopaths, she is very wrong.

Females can be psychopaths as well as men.

If you are interested in knowing more about psychopaths and their victims, or are looking for help yourself, I would recommend the books by Dr. Robert Hare, Dr. Paul Babiak, Dr. Liane Leedom, and Dr. Martha Stout. Dr. Leedom's focus is on the children of psychopaths - what happens to them if they have a psychopathic parent.

People are born psychopaths. They are born missing the part of the brain governing remorse and guilt. The most caring, understanding, and supportive parents who give birth to psychopaths cannot bypass this genetic deformity.

Giving therapy to a psychopath is very dangerous. They cannot be changed by therapy, but being gifted with being able to study others and mimic acceptable behavior, therapy teaches them what they need to say and do to pass as normal, making them even more dangerous and treacherous.

There are websites offering help and guidance to victims of psychopaths available - [...] and [...]. Check out their bookstores.

Finally, read what Gavin de Becker has to offer, especially his Gift of Fear or Protecting the Gift.

Trust your gut that there is something wrong and don't fall for the psychopath's charm.

Currently I am divorcing A psychopath. My husband of twenty seven years and we are divorcing because after four heart attacks and four kidney failures one doctor looked. I was told I was being poisoned with arsenic. My husband is wealthy charming and hired the Sec. of States brother. The investigation was dropped and tables turned made this all about my mental health. Since the day I filed I have learned of a secret life, crimes, sexual deviancy and why I needed to die. I bought 2 books one for me one for my lawyer. Mine gives me comfort because I needed to accept what never was. I sent a copy to my lawyers because he is a con. If they investigated he would be in jail currently I hope for a day without fear. This book has made my expectations more realistic.

5.0 out of 5 stars First hand experience February 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Reading about psychopaths is always interesting for anyone and this is no exception. There are case studies and first hand experiences. The book is a warming to others, if they recognize this kind of thing is happening in their lives, it helps them deal with the issues involved and move on to become ex-victims. Very readable.
