Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com

This deliciously witty cartoon adventure drips in wacky, self-deprecating British humor while dishing up spoofs, satire, and silliness. Conceived by the immensely creative writing team of Brian Trueman and Mike Harding, our title character (voiced by David Jason) is a secret-agent rodent who rids the world of dastardly deeds. Diminutive yet dashing, Danger Mouse follows Colonel K's orders while his faithful sidekick, Penfold, offers bumbling assistance. These four episodes follow the shameless schemes of evil nemesis, Baron Greenback. In one, he unleashes an army of washing machines to soak the city of London in sinister suds; in another, his laughing gas threatens the collapse of world empires by teatime. Whether it's pterodactyls in Trafalgar Square or a mechanical mouse-masher loose near Parliament, Danger Mouse confronts the enemy with nary a trace of violence. Though the television series (of the early '80s) was short-lived, Danger Mouse transcends cheesy Saturday morning fare, appealing to all ages. --Lynn Gibson

From the back cover

Die Laughing. A ticklish problem: the sinister Baron Greenback's green laughing gas is sending the world into stitches. Governments are crumbling. There's panic abroad. Will Dangermouse have the last laugh? The Day of the Suds, London is under threat of invasion by an army of manic washing machines (another of the evil Baron's dirty deeds). The mopping-up operation falls to our trusty heroes... 150 Million Years Lost. Time goes haywire when the Professor's time machine blows a fuse. Dangermouse and Penfold find themselves confronting pre-historic pterodactyls, a 12th century knight...and a dinosaur in Trafalgar Square...

4.0 out of 5 stars It's Danger Mouse, what can you say?, June 30, 2000

This review is from: Danger Mouse: The Day of Suds (Vol. 4) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video is not my favorite of the 5, but it is classic. Where else can you find washing machines taking over London? Penfold's adventures back in time are a riot. Fun for all ages...ranks up with one of my all-time top five favorite tv series.
