Completely Unpredictable,
By
This review is from: Dangerous to Know (Mass Market Paperback)
This book comfortably moves along in chapters of its major characters' descriptions rather than the usual chronological sequence of events found in most books. This allows the reader a full understanding of each character and his/her motives instead of bits and pieces here and there. The last 1/3 of the book was a complete surprise as I wondered why a new character was introduced and the story's revelations took me by surprise. Thank you Ms. Bradford. I would love to hear from you.

Very Disappointed,

This review is from: Dangerous to Know (Mass Market Paperback)
I was personally very disappointed in this bestseller by a bestseller author. The book's ending was a total surprise--and I would not have continued reading it had I known what the surprise ending was. I would NOT recommend reading this book due to its sick ending. I would have given it a zero star rating had I been able to do so.

A BIT SLOW,

Even though I am no a big fan of this author I did find this book to be very entertaining even though I threw it against the wall of my prison cell many times. But Over all it was a good read. In prison there aren't a lot of good things to read. Heck I even told my mother about it and she had a tough time reading through it. But in the end she liked it too.

Absolutely Terrible!!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Dangerous to Know (Paragon Softcover Large Print Books) (Paperback)
This has to be the worst book I have ever read and I'm seriously not kidding either. It was boring with uninteresting characters. I kept reading thinking that it would get better and neatly come together at the end, but it never did. The bizarre, disturbing ending stamped it as the worst book ever for me. I never read a Bradford novel before and certainly expected something better than this. Don't even ask me how I was able to get through it, but somehow I did!

I have read a lot of good books and I found "Dangerous to Know" to be at the top of my list. I not only read it, I listened to it on tape. I referred it to a co-worker who also loved it. Both of us were intriqued through the whole story. The further we read the more interesting the book became. Definitly an excellent book. I am planning on reading it again.

Characters poorly developed plus too boring to finish,
By A Customer
This review is from: Dangerous to Know (Mass Market Paperback)
I only got about 1/3 through this book because it was written in the first person and I couldn't relate at all to the weird narrator or any of the other unrealistic characters, plus it was boring.

It looked like from the reviews that people either loved it or hated it. Since I already had the book & have liked other BTB I decided to chance & read it. Most of the book was OK. The ending however was totally ridiculous! For those of you who want to take a chance & read it, it is a fast, easy read. Maybe you will be one of those lucky ones who loved it. For me, I wish I hadn't wasted my time.

Dangerous to Know,
This review is from: Dangerous to Know (Mass Market Paperback)
The first and last book that I'll read by Ms. Bradford. How this writer has reached the status she has is the only mystery surrounding her....choppy sentences, unrealistic characters, ridiculous plot. Wish I had done what I wanted to do....put it down after the first chapter!!!

Boring to know,

This review is from: Dangerous to Know (Mass Market Paperback)
To the best of my knowledge this was the first BTB book I have encountered. If this is a typical sample of her work I cannot understand why she is a bestselling author. Monotonous and melodramatic. I actually detested the main character, Vivian. Hope that she might drown to death in her "oceans of tears" was the main reason I continued with the book. Sadly, she lives on.

WRONG author with same title -- PLEASE CORRECT,

The Editorial Reviews and the customer reviews for this book refer to one of same title by Barbara Taylor Bradford. THIS BOOK supposedly is by Margaret Yorke, a top British psychological yet cozy mystery writer. CAN SOMEONE AT AMAZON PUT THESE EDITORIAL REVIEWS AND REVIEWS WITH THE BOOK OF SAME TITLE BY BARBARA TAYLOR BRADFORD? She can in no way compare to the sharp, poignant plots by Margaret Yorke of everyday dull, even mousy British protaganists with mundane, boring lives turned criminal by deep psychological needs.
