Marie Rochelle is wicked with a pen when it comes to bringing together a pair of hard-headed people obsessed with taking a tumble into the nearest bed, not that they would admit it. Dangerous Bet: Troy's Revenge didn't disappoint. This story kicked off with a scene riddled with sexual tension and confrontation until I was dying to find out what would unfold next. This showdown between Headley and Troy was steamy, stormy, and downright stupendous because Ms. Rochelle does a splendid job at telling their story. I truly liked these characters and the author is great at peeling away their tough exterior to reveal the vulnerable hearts hungering for love and acceptance. I wanted to grab Headley and Troy and force them to open up and tell one another how they truly felt. However, I was reminded it's never easy exposing yourself to another person.

Dangerous Bet: Troy's Revenge is a modern tale with a touch of old-fashioned sweetness that works and never gets old. This author is fast becoming a personal favorite, and here's another example of why I'll continue to read her books. If you haven't snatched up one of her sultry, tumultuously tender novels then I strongly suggest that you remedy that ASAP.

Troy Christian has secretly been in love with Headley Rose(I totally love this name)for ten years of his life, but kept his feeling hidden because Headley never showed any interest in him. However, after Headley father goes to Trou begging for his help. Troy sees this as a way to get Headley back in his life and into his bed.

Headley is a very determined young woman. She isn't going to let Troy get away with what he has done to her father. She leaves New York and comes back to Texas vowing to pay back the money her father owes Troy. Even if it means getting into a bet wih him that is almost impossible to win.

I really enjoyed this book. Headley was spunky and fun. She didn't let Troy have the last word all the time, despite the fact she was heads over heels in love with him.

Troy was the perfect mixture of a man being in love and an alpha male. They made a perfect couple. I can't wait unitl the sequel comes out in print with Maxwell and Fancy.

This was a fun, exciting book. Troy was crazy about Headley, but didn't know how to just open his mouth and say the words. He was seriously going through all these changes and manipulating when he could have just told her. He was a big silly. (hot, though!) It was cute and I really enjoyed it. Hot love scenes, but the fact that Troy loved Headley so much was the winner for this book. Troy was pretty cavemanish, but Headley knew how to handle him. I like the possessive heroes so it didn't bother me, because Headley wasn't a doormat. I liked the interactions with Troy's friends, and Headley's friend Fancy. Some of the words that came out their mouths, wow! This book was a great read. Hours of entertainment after a long day of work. Can't wait to read Fancy and Maxwell's story. Intrigued about who Cole ends up with. Marie Rochelle is an autobuy for me.

a good book . I just found it to short. could have been longer

This was my first read by this author and while I did enjoy the characters I would have enjoyed it more if the backstory on the main character's Headley and Troy had been more revealing. I felt the whole time I was reading that the author wanted me to feel their fire and passion, and I wanted to but the lead character's left me a little on the lukewarm side because their lust and fire is kinda dropped on the reader without adequate filler to explain all this lust and passion. The author does offer a brief glimpse into their backstory explaining an age difference between Troy (him being older)and Headley in the early days of their attraction posed a barrier for them to act on their feelings. But I think the author owed readers a little more plotting here, Troy and Headley barely interacted according to the story narrative so what exactly happened between them that heightened Troy's lust for her? I think it would have been great plotting to know what pushed Troy to seek Headley's father for permission to see his daughter knowing their age difference and why doesn't Headley's father not like him? Troy does help him and is responsible for getting Headley to come home. Troy and Headley's passion would have burned the pages if these questions and details had been disclosed.

This is a pretty good story plot and I would have given it a four but I honestly was annoyed by the missing or wrong word useage that good editing would have caught. I think the editing on this story really fractured what would have been a smoother read, sometimes it seemed a little disjointed moving from scene to scene. I hope Ms. Rochelle can find a better copy editor.

Overall, I did like the main character's as well as the secondary character's. There is potential for Headley's best friend Fancy to hook-up with Troy's friend Max, I think this story will be very interesting. I think Marie Rochelle is an author that I will read again. She is a spicey writer, which I love, and she certainly creates imaginative plots to embroil her character's so you really want to like them and understand them. I hope that Ms.Rochelle continues to write these very sexy and imaginative stories but I also hope she doesn't forget to clue in her readers with the right details to better reveal her character's behavior and make them more likable. This story had character interactions that could have been left out all together and replaced with more of Troy and Headley's budding romance/relationship it just seemed I was missing so much more about these two, I know I would have appreciated these conflicting character's more.

For lovers of IR reads you will enjoy this very sexy read and find the characters intriguing enough to hold your interest. For those readers who like much more depth in character development will feel this story leaves many questions and somewhat rushed into the passion and fire of the two main characters. This story is graphic and if you don't like your romance to be explicit this would not be the read for you. I look forward to reading Ms. Rochelle's next installment in the Tycoon Series.

I usually enjoy books buy this author, but this book was not one of them. The characters were not developed and the plot was rushed. This is not a book to even pass the time. In addition, the grammatical errors in the book were too numerous to overlook. Save your money this book is not worth it.

i enjoyed this read. but the editing was poor, other than that i do love a good blackmail. Headly is a very head strong woman out to not let Troy blackmail and force her into marriage by paying of her sick fathers debt. Troy is sexy and very possessive and demanding and I LOVE IT. this was a very good read and the first book in the series.

NEEDED MORE DETAILS ON HOW THEY DIDN'T SEE THE LOVE THEY HAD FOR EACH OTHER & THE PART HER DAD PLAYED IN IT. COLE WAS THROWN IN IT AT THE END NEVER IN THE BOOK THEY LET ON SHE KNEW HIM LIKE SHE DID MAXWELL. THE MODEL ON THE FRONT OF THE BOOK ACTUALLY DESCRIBE TROY, ALL I CAN SAY IS" UM UM GOOD" LOL

This is a good book. I really enjoyed it. Marvelous job done by Ms. Rochelle.
