Warm up the presses!,

What a tragedy that this inventive tale is out of print. We lucky few who have a first edition should unite to demand another printing so more imaginative kids and their parents can revel in its fun. My family has been enjoying the illustrations, their creative perspectives (like looking down from the top of a skyscraper), the contagious rhythm of the narrative, and Dan's off-the-wall outlook. It's an affirmation of the alternate life that goes on inside a kid's head ... and sometimes spills out. I'd tack on a few more stars if they were available.

My daughers 3 & 5 both love this book. My mother gave it to us as Jef personally signed it for her as he use to be my neighbor as a young girl from Big Rapids, Michigan.
Jef it's a terrific book and I hope to learn that you write some more soon. Lauren Klein

I am from Jef's Hometown and could not believe it when i saw his name as author on this book! So it makes it even more special to "know" the author! I have read it to all my children's classes and it is on the "request" list for our school library-I hope to donate a few copies! This book had such imagination and rhyme from start to finish! The illustrations were just as wonderful! Sincerely, The Mersino Family!

My kid's favorite book,

Dangerous Dan, Adventure Man was bright and bold and brave....
We've memorized the first few pages of the book -- all of us including our 7,5 and 3 year olds. Having read the book over a hundred times already, we never seem to tire of the antics of this naughty little boy. Maybe my guys like it because Dangerous Dan resembles them in so many ways. Whatever the case, your kids will love this book...especially if your kids happen to be little boys

. . . there was a wonderfully illustrated, inventive book called "Dangerous Dan." I've been a Jef Mallett fan since I read my first "Frazz" comic strip, and very much wanted to find this book. It's everything I thought it would be: clever, quirky, warm, funny and delightful. Young Dan's vivid imagination comes to life in Mallett's creative drawings and wry verse. There's so much to see in these pictures that children will have fun exploring them and many will relate to how Dan gets lost in his fantasies (to his delight and the grown-ups' exasperation).
