Book Description

In the world of elemental magic, losing your heart to the wrong person might be more dangerous than having magic disease...

Ria is an 18-year-old girl who has just started going to the University of Magic, a special university for those who have one of the four elements: fire, water, air and earth. There she meets Michael, a boy whose element is different from hers, which makes their romantic involvement seem impossible because mixing of elements can have horrible consequences. She also feels threatened by Adrian, a very dangerous magic disease carrier. Ria's best friend, Paula, is fascinated by Adrian like most of the girls at the University and wants him to help her with her research about the disease. All Ria's beliefs are put to test when she starts having the symptoms of the disease and the only person she can turn to is Adrian.

Young Adult/New Adult Fantasy/Romance for mature teens.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dangerous Review- by Lameciacreviews@gmail.com January 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I really enjoyed this book all the way till the end! The end left me hanging though! I can't wait till the next installment comes out, I hope it is pretty soon because I can't stand to think about what happened to my Adrian!

Ria lives in a world where everyone 'normal' has an element of Fire,Water,Earth, and Air. Their God has gifted every human on the planet with an element and the only thing he asked was for each element to reproduce with a person of the same element and to never mix. Well guess what, they went against his request and mixed the elements in which there were consequences.

Ria's is a regular college student and her element is Fire. Everything starts to change when she meets a guy named Micheal through her best friend Puala. Micheal's element is water and because she is forbidden by her family to marry outside of her element, Ria knows that she would never marry Micheal so she decides dating him wouldn't hurt anybody. Ria hears about a disease carrier by the name of Adrian(Love that name) that also attends the school, Ria does not feel she or anyone is safe around this guy because he is dangerous. But her best friend starts dating him and she slowly starts feeling something for him and figures out that Adrian is hiding something that can change the view of the magic disease carriers.

I couldn't put this book down! I LOVED Ria's attitude, everything that came out of her mouth was hilarious and Adrian, I had mixed feeling with him in the beginning of the book he was such a freakin JERK! I could not believe him sometimes but everything started to make since at the end of the book and I just LOVE him lol. I recommend this book to anyone because I enjoyed every surprising turn in this book, it really left me panting for more!

I loved this book!

Such a refreshing concept for a paranormal series to deal with elements. Took me a couple of chapters to get that possessing an elemental power wasn't a secretive thing like in most books but that the entire population knew about people wielding elements.
The characters are well written and have depth and mystery to them. The developing relationships that the main character Ria has are gripping and seem real. She is torn between the gentle and sweet Michael and the infamous Adrian, carrier of the Magic Disease. But who does Ria have more in common with?
Set in an American College it has an adult edge to it but isn't graphic.
I've read alot of paranormal fiction of all different types and this was the perfect blend for me. Action, romance and magic.
I was disappointed it ended

1.0 out of 5 stars Problems with this one October 20, 2013

SPOILER ALERT. This is a very talented author that I could have liked but she threw in really unnecessary cursing, stupid drinking and stupid sexual behavior that really kind of made me end up hating the story. Ria lives in a world of magic where magic is the core of the world she lives in. It is as common as all of the elements and had she focused on that the story would have been fine. However, instead you have Ria getting drunk at a party, taking a pill that was meant for her friend allegedly to protect the friend and having sex with her boyfriend without any memory of it the next day. The impression you are given at the beginning was that Ria wanted to wait to have sex. However, after she has sex with her boyfriend and doesn't remember any of it, she blames the boy who gave her the pill that made her forget and she seems to not be too troubled about the fact that she had sex with her boyfriend and didn't remember it. Anyone with any sort of moral code or sense of right and wrong would have been devastated that her first experience with sex was some sort of date rape. Her boyfriend should have been able to tell that she was not able to give consent. Then, she starts hanging out with her allegedly best friends boyfriend who she has hated in the past but now because of her alleged magic disease needs to be around him and after drinking some vodka ends up having sex with him but not once, twice. But she always has an excuse for her stupid choices and stupid behavior in general. The Impression you get is that no one is accountable for anything and stuff just happens. Heck they don't even seem to associate their stupid drinking with the really stupid destructive choices made in the story. Not recommended to anyone with any common sense. Of course if you want to read about a bunch of magical asinine fools then you will love this one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining, but not among my favorites! January 18, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This installment of Element Preservers could certainly be considered a light read. Ria has just begun her first year at the University, and she's excited to begin learning about her element, fire. Everybody has an element, except for those cursed with the dreaded magic disease, which causes the inflicted to lose their element and gives them an uncontrolable desire to kill for one. Ria hates those with Magic disease, but what happens when she comes face to face with Adrian, the living son of the most famous of the disease carriers? What will Ria do when she discovers that she herself has the disease? As secrets begin to unfold, Ria discovers more about herself than she could even imagine. While Dangerous is an entertaining read, I found it difficult to look past the numerous gramatical errors. This story could greatly benefit from some gramatical editing, but has the potential to captivate many young readers. As for an older crowd, it is not among my recomendations.
