5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't Stop.
I loved this book. I couldn't stop once I got started. I read a lot and this was one of the better fantisy books I've read in a while. It's especally good if you aren't in the mood to be thrilled to death. I was weary of reading an R. L. Stine book due to I remember Fear Street vividly. I loved Dangerous Girls.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Read, October 5, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Dangerous Girls (Hardcover)
A dark, compelling tale which Stine is famous for. I enjoyed this book, the writing style reminded me of my favorite author, Sherry A Mauro and her paranormal-romance novel, Even Angels Fall with an especially suspenseful final twist to the ending, just like the Stine novels. I look forward to reading more books by each of these engaging storytellers!

3.0 out of 5 stars What I Did on My Summer Vacation (Became a Vampire), December 21, 2004

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Dangerous Girls (Paperback)
Destiny and Livvy were camp counselors. On their last night of camp they are bitten by one of the other councillors. For some reason they do not remember the event or even the existence of the councillor. Counselor Renz has a reason for targeting the twins. He believes on of hem is his long-lost love.

As the new school year begins at Summer's end, the sisters notice the marks on their necks. They are quick to speculate what it could mean and soon come to the conclusion that there is a chance they will turn into vampires. Soon they become overly sensitive to the sun. People begin to get killed. Renz makes an appearance in town although the girls do not remember him.

Who is behind the killings? Is there a way to halt the transformation? Are there really vampire slayers? What are Renz's plans? All of the questions and others get answered although some of those answers raise more questions as well as pave the way for the sequel.

Quick short chapters move the story along very quickly and the reader is kept guessing what is really going on. As the book ended I was sorry I had not waited to get the sequel first (my usual habit). Now I have to wait for the next one. Storywise this one seems to fall somewhere between Stine's usual YA books and his more adult stories. This is not a typical vampire tale.

1.0 out of 5 stars Even For A Teen Vampire Novel This Is Pathetic, December 30, 2003
This review is from: Dangerous Girls (Hardcover)
The cover and selection on the back made this book look extreamely promising. The book first begins to strain at the very begining at the summer camp. All the girls were drooling over Renz who is modeled after the millions of carbon copy vampires. Livvy and Destiny are also the carbon copy vampire prey. Livvy's advanced symptoms and odd behavior are more than enough to stir the reader's sixth sense of what will happen but the constant reminder of how different they are will no doubt give it away to many readers.

The actual change to being a vampire was poorly written even though it was the main focus of the book. Even though the coach and his wife added a lot to the novel the completely unbelievable plotline involving the vampire hunters and the father's blunt charecterization and the obvious plotline with the father's project and the blood drained animals takes more from the book than it had to begin with.

The coach's wife's obvious hints takes away from whatever hope of irony or a plot twist the most readers will have left in them. And the setting is terrible along with the friends who seem to have little purpose in the book and die without anyone really caring and the petty squable between the girls over the one friend is enough to make even the most squemish reader want them to die a horrible gory death.

If you want a good vampire novel I'd suggest Anne Rice for the older folk and Artwater-Rhodes for teens and Darren Shan for the younger ones and older since he is very good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dangerous Book, April 19, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Dangerous Girls (Paperback)
If you like to read mysterious and thrilling books you have got to read "Dangerous Girls" written by R.L. Stine. It is about twin girls, Destiney and Livvey, who are about 18 years old. They sign up to be on camp council. So they spend the summer watching little kids at Camp Blue Moon. The girls meet a 19 year old named Renz. He is the kind of guy who all the girls fall over. Two of those girls are Livvey and Destiney. Destiney is sort of shy so she doesn't talk to Renz much. But her sister Livvey talks to him 24/7. Destiney sees Renz looking at her, so on the last day of camp she went to a camp fire party after the kids left. There Renz was talking to all the girls especially Livvey. After the party Renz took all the girls When Renz takes Destiney on a walk they go into the woods. Destiney comes to like him and they kiss. But what Destiney doesn't know is that Renz is about 500 years to old for her. When Destiney and her sister realize this they become bloodthirsty for revenge.

Something I really love about this book is that has so many different twists and turns. At one moment you think every thing is okay then you turn around and you think it's the end of the world. Something that I don't like very well about this story is how it talks about the people in the story. The story doesn't describe the way the people look.

5.0 out of 5 stars I need the nector...............of this book!, November 9, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Dangerous Girls (Hardcover)
This book is one of the best I have every read in my whole life! I had always been a R.L. Stine fan for as long as I can remeber. (The first book I read of R.L.Stines was one of his fear street books: Night games) anyway, I never knew about this book untill my friend was reading it and I asked her about it. After she let me borow the book I finished it in 1 day without putting it down. The suspence was killing me in the whole book and I just kept on reading. It may look like a VERY LONG book at first glance, but when u start reading it it feels like the book is not that long. Thats how I felt anyway. I give this book a 5 out of 5 because it is one of the best books I have every read. Oh and also read the 2nd dangerous girls (taste of the night) which is out now, that one is great 2. I hope there is a 3rd one out soon. ^_^ I sujest this book at any R.L. Stine fans ^_^ like me! ^__________^ Bye!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars DANGEROUS GIRLS is undoubtedly one of Stine's best books., July 26, 2004
By
This review is from: Dangerous Girls (Hardcover)

Destiny and Livvy Weller are identical twin sisters who decide to work as counselors at Camp Blue Moon during the summer, following their mother's suicide. Celebrations are well under way on the last day of camp when Destiny has a strange encounter in the woods with a good-looking counselor named Renz, who leaves her feeling very weird.

Destiny and Livvy nevertheless return home to Dark Springs, Massachusetts. Later that night, their friends come over to hang out. What starts out as an evening of creepy fun for the gang turns into a nightmare for Destiny. Her friend Ari Stark tells the group about a news story he heard concerning animals that are dying from a mysterious virus that drains their blood. Ari thinks that a vampire is responsible for this, but his friends are skeptical and laugh at him. When Ari plays his latest vampire DVD, Destiny suddenly begins to scream as she watches a movie scene unfold.

Everyone is creeped out by Destiny's reaction and leave. Destiny herself is shaken by the ordeal and goes to bed. She later wakes up in a cold sweat and is thirsty. She also has a craving for...bunnies. Destiny soon finds herself drinking the blood of a bunny with Livvy!

The twin sisters realize something is very wrong. Destiny soon finds out, through Ari's knowledge of vampire folklore, that she and Livvy are neophytes. A neophyte is a person who has been bitten by a vampire but has not yet drunk the blood of a vampire in return under a full moon. Ari also tells Destiny that there are vampire hunters, and their longtime family friend Coach Bauer is rumored to be one and may be hiding a dark secret.

The girls are soon in a horrifying world where not everyone can be trusted, tragedy strikes and secrets are revealed. Who is the vampire that bit them? Who is the Restorer? Will the girls find a cure before it's too late?

I haven't read R.L. Stine's books for a few years, so when I found out about this one I knew I had to read it. Although a bit slow at times, DANGEROUS GIRLS is undoubtedly one of Stine's best books. So grab a copy, curl up in a chair, and read it. Just beware of full moons!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointment, December 25, 2003
This review is from: Dangerous Girls (Hardcover)
I was really disappointed by this book. I saw the cover and thought it would be super cool. It sounded great... But then I started reading it.
The story has a good idea but that's about it. The characters are vastly underdeveloped, the plot is lacking, and the storyline jumps around too much to get you actually involved. I think this book stunk and I was really disappointed.
I have read a lot of vampire fiction and I feel that this book was a real let down.
I would not recommend this book to anyone. The only reason I would tell anyone about this book is to give them an example of a bad vampire novel.

4.0 out of 5 stars R.L. Stine at his best..., August 11, 2003

When I was younger I read the Goosebumps and Fear Street series. I was a huge fan, and owned almost all the books. I'm currently 16 years old, and decided to pick up R.L. Stine's newest book, Dangerous Girls.

Dangerous Girls is a great book, and just what you would expect from Stine. Interesting storyline, twists, and easy-to-read, makes this book a hit!

In my opinion, I believe R.L. Stine does much better on longer novels than on series or shorter books.
