Can't say it enough - I just love Rosemary Roger's style. Maybe it's the sexy brooding type that I find so appealing in Nick Kincade and Steve Morgan (Sweet Savage Love). This book though was a bit too close in story, character, etc. to Sweet Savage Love - my only complaint. I'm glad though the promiscuity was dramatically lessened. I'm a true romantic at heart, and yes I do believe that Nick Kincade fell in love with Tory, regardless of his cold, "jerk-ish" ways. I wish Rosemary Rogers would write more books. I've tried other authors, but I can't get into the corniness of some of the books. I do enjoy Lisa Kleypas, but thus far, my favorites are still Sweet Savage Love and A Dangerous Man by Rosemary Rogers. Write another one!

'Action Packed'! 'Dangerous Man' has it all!,

The title says it all. Action packed! Exciting! Exhilirating! A 'one sitting' read! I have very few complaints about this novel, although you experience deja vue if you've read Rosemary Roger's 'Sweet Savage Love', but you appreciate Rogers writing in the mode that she penned in the 1970s. Nick Kincaid is 'dangerous', much like his predecessor 'Steve Morgan'. I say precessor because Steve's appearance in 'Sweet Savage Love' occurred in the 1970s, set historically during the U.S.Civil War, Mexico's independence, and the expansion west. Actually, Nick could have been Steve's father, their lives were so similar. But there are so many similarities between the two novels that Rosemary probably should have created Nick Kincaid and Victoria Ryan as Morgan's parents. That would have been believable! But if you enjoy espionage, Native American scrimages, historical battles, being on the run, sensual, passionate and sometimes plain lust lovemaking episodes, then you'll enjoy 'A Dangerous Man'. Rogers has a five star winner in this one. But mind you, if you enjoy slow moving romances where the hero and heroine compliment each other with passionate words and kisses, debutant balls, and lengthy drawing rooms discussions, this is not the novel for you. This novels keeps you on the edge of your seat, or pillow, however you read! But if enjoyed 'Sweet Savage Love', in spite of its controversy, then you'll enjoy 'A Dangerous Man'! On a positive note regarding the author, Rosemary Rogers has learned to pen heroines whom are not as permiscuous as some of her 70s heroines. And it seesm she realizes that rape is not considered romantic!

the ending left me unsatisfied. It's one thing to say this & that happened. But it's another to CONVINCE me of it. Maybe it's because I was never fully convinced that Nicky could love Tory (I wanted him to feel that earth shattering love). I thought this was more one sided; on Tory's part. Even at the end, he was attending a ball with another woman! I prefer a hero who CONVINCINGLY changes his ways. Why couldn't he fall in love with her first? She was doing all the heart wrenching stuff. Near the end, she hung around for months waiting for him (not that he made any promises to her or gave her ANY indication of a future or even a future meeting! ) and he didn't even acknowledge her during that time! It's hard to admire a woman who doesn't think she deserves better than that. Don't get me wrong, a few words here and there at the last few chapters and I would have given it 4 or 5 stars.

I had very high hopes for this book after seeing the reviews but I had to force myself to finish the book. I felt that almost every sexual encounter in this book could be considered rape & I don't have a problem reading that in a book but I just don't understand how this girl could come to love this man after the way he treated her. I also don't see how Nick could just stand by when other men were about to rape his woman & I don't understand why Tory would do the seduction act that she did towards end when she truly didn't know that both men would go for her at once. Who's to say that her trick would truly work? What would've happened had one man been put to stand guard while the other raped her? I know a lot of women were helpless in those days but I think I would've fought to my death rather then endure some of the stuff that Tory had to endure. I just don't think this book was thought out that well therefore I can't recommend this book.

I am a dedicated reader of Rosemary Roger and this book is one of the best she has written. The characters are perfectly matched for each other in this novel. This novel is full of adventure, suspense and hot romance. A must read!

I often share books with friends but this is one that I keep for myself to go back to from time to time. I won't reiterate what all of the other reviewers said. I will only say this, I have a hard time finding other writers who can compare to Rosemary Rogers when she creates such a level of passion and tension among the main characters (at times borderline hateful)yet it is done in a way that you almost jump up and say, "Yes!! Finally!!" at the end of the book even though her endings are never sappy-sweet. I admit that some of RR's books are hit or miss. Either you love 'em or hate 'em but mostly I end up loving them. When I see her name on a cover, I have to make sure I have a long stretch of time ahead of me before picking up the book because I can never seem to put the book down despite having pressing real-life responsibilities to attend to. Rosemary Rogers is in a class of her own. They just do not make books like hers these days.

I was very disappointed with this novel. I've read & enjoyed many Rosemary Rogers novels before, but this one was boring from the first few pages. I had to force myself to finish it. The plot was basically a re-tread of scenes from her prior novels, and none of the characters were particularly likeable or involving. Nothing new or fresh here.
