Such a Classic!,

Even though this cd came out about 4 or 5 years ago, it is still one of my favourites! Song #1 Coolio's hit Gangsta's paradise has great lyrics with a beat, which makes the song REALLY GOOD! Another song that is probably my favourite, is problems, because the lyrics are relatable and the song (lyrics, rythem etc.) is extremely well done! So i would recommend this cd to anyone that likes a well put together hip hop album! But of course be warned (like all other cd's) there is always one or two songs, that are annoying!

this cd, unlike stated above, is NOT all rap, the song This Is Life is very powerful , and is not hip hop. anyways, this whole cd was great just like my fav. movie...dangerous minds is off the hook even after all these years !

Intelligent Rap that is worth listening to,

I saw both the film and I heard the CD. I have to admit I preferred the CD though the film was okay. Coolio's Gangsta Paradise is intelligent, foot tapping and totally mind-blowing. It actually enhances a rather mediocre film and makes more of it through its lyrics and music. I found it a very haunting score especially as it related to teens growing up in an environment of violence and bloodshed. The rest of the songs are pretty good too, overall this is an excellent CD. Dangerous Minds the CD is worth buying just for Coolio's contributions but more than likely you will find other tracks you like just as much, which makes it an overall good investment.

Though there are a couple of songs that I'm not completely drawn into, Gangsta's Paradise is worth the cost of the album alone.

I like the coolio song the most. But it is fun "get down" kind of music!

This is a fantastic Hip-Hop album. I wouldn't say its entirity is Hip-Hop. You've got to remember Rap isn't a style of music, it's a style of vocals. I myself dont totally listen to Rap nor Hip-Hop but it is an art I love. You dont have to have seen the film to understand, or like this album. Tracks like Gangsta's Paradise and It's Alright give you emotion and feeling. The film itself was a pretty good film, but I especially like the soundtrack.
