This is the first book by this author that I've read and I love it . I have a fasination with highwaymen and when they are gay (or lesbian ) so much the better ! This is an amazing story . You learn about the seedy side of London and the adventure in this book is incredible . Wow . Can't stop thinking about it . What a story .

It is always enjoyable to read novels in which homosexual men happily get on with doing what they like best whilst living within a believable world full of danger and disproval.
Mel Keegan has several novels to his credit in this style. The problem is that he overwrites. He also repeats information unnecessarily and many scenes simply outstay their welcome. Clearly, his books are not properly edited. 30 years ago the editor's blue pencil would have lopped at least a quarter of the text out of Dangerous Moonlight -- i'ts a heavy tome. Would that he had been as disciplined as he was in An East Wind Blowing, possibly his best novel. That said, there is much to enjoy in this story as our hero Nicholas Grey is continually knocked from pillar to post whilst his adoring highwayman binds him up on a regular basis. |
