Not bad in the Warriors series but not the best,
By Litwolf (MD, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Dangerous Path (Warriors, Book 5) (Hardcover)
The book picks up where the last one left off, where Tigerstar is introducing himself as ShadowClan's new leader. But he is only one side-plot that makes up this whole complicated book in this wonderful series.
With his leader unbalanced and unable or willing to do anything to help her clan, Fireheart takes matter into his own paws. He must deal with the new threat of Tigerstar and his quickly strengthening clan, the hidden and mysterious threat of an enemy that calls through his dreams "Pack, pack! Kill, kill!", and anger coming from both RiverClan and WindClan. Fireheart even goes behind his leader's back! Can Fireheart face the new threats that lay all around him? This book was okay but not as good as the others. It annoys me how Sandstorm and Cinderpelt keep fighting for Fireheart's attention, Bluestar's sanity continues to spiral downward (the whole book I was thinking "She's not doing anybody any good, will someone just kill her and let Fireheart take over!"), that, no matter how many times Fireheart screws something up or somehow loses the trust of his clan, they always forgive and forget after a week, and the hidden enemy is portrayed as stupid and dumb when they are actually very lovable creatures. Though the ending is very perdictable, it was sweet and the cats actually came up with a good plan. It keeps you tight in its grip, I could not put it down! The ust (unresolved sexual tension) between two cats is resolved and a new, somewhat surprising relationship is sprouted between two other cats. Cant wait for the next book (is it the last? *cries*). A definate must read book and series for cat lovers anywhere!

The Best Yet!,

I've read all the Warriors books, and loved every one. But I must say this is the best. Up until now, Warriors #3: Forest of Secrets was one of the greatest books I've ever read, but this passes even that up! First I have to say a few things about the series. When you see a virtually unknown set of books, especially by a rather unorigional name like Warriors, you might wonder if the books are worth reading. These definately are! All of them are very descripitive and really are what many English teachers might call "Good Literature". But, just to let you know, you HAVE to read them in order. So, anyway, about this installment itself... The one thing I don't appreciate about this book is how the dogs, really very gentle, intellegent animals, are portrayed: Overall, this is a terrific, edge-of-the-seat book that I would strongly recommend.

One of the best in this great series!,

I would have to say books 3, 5, and 6 are the best in the original series. This book is by far one of the most tension filled! And one of the best written! A dog pack is loose in the forest - turning the cats into prey in their own territory. Also, Bluestar has gone completly out of her mind now! The only complaint I had was that, while you hear about the dog's escape in the prolouge, the cat's trouble with the dogs doesn't start until relatively late in the book, but nonetheless this book is never boring! I read this book in record time. Some people complain about the way dogs are protrayed in this book - tottaly un-equal from the cats! While the cats are intelligent, noble, and live by a honorable set of rules, the dogs are protrayed as horrid beasts who live only to kill and can hardly talk. Though this is certainly unfair to the dogs, what else can you expect? The rivaly of cats and dogs is a legendary one, and in the many stories bound to be based on this one of them has to be the bad guys. And it's usually the cats (i.e. the movie Cats and Dogs), so at least they play the hero roll in this book. But I will admit the dogs portrayal a bit extreem (but these wern't cuddly pets, these were escaped gaurd dogs), however it did really make you fear for the clans! The final battle was astounding! Probably the best final battle in the series! The cats come up with a clever and pulse-pounding plan to rid their forest of the dogs for good. The ending was however, very sad (though not nessesarily un-expected.) It left you satisifed between books though. The characters get a little deeper in this book too. Overall, an amazing book in this great series! I highly recommend it.

Watch out Fireheart!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: A Dangerous Path (Warriors, Book 5) (Hardcover)
A Dangerous Path starts right off where Rising Storm left off. There's a short prologue, of course, introducing a new and darker threat, like nothing the forest has ever seen. How will Fireheart manage to pull this one off? It seems all odds are against him as he struggles with his duties as deputy, a leader who is beyond caring for her own Clan, and the headstrong Cloudpaw. And what is Tigerclaw doing during this time? Not only making ShadowClan strong again, but it looks as though he has found the perfect way to get his revenge on Thunderclan. Full of suspense, action, and even some romance. At last Fireheart shares his true feelings with Sandstorm. Has Bluestar really abandoned her clan to the dark threat? How will Fireheart stop Tigerclaw this time? How will you know what happens if you don't read the book? A great novel, it will keep the reader guessing with every turn of the page!

This review is from: A Dangerous Path (Warriors, Book 5) (Hardcover)
This book is exciting and filled with dangers.Tigerclaw(now Tigerstar)has taken control of ShadowClan, and Fireheart can't help but wonder if the treacherous cat still seeks revenge on ThunderClan.Bluestar has lost the will to believe in her warrior ancestors, and a new dark threat stalks the forest. The hunters become the hunted. And each day, Fireheart's desire to be with Sandstorm grows.
Erin Hunter is a spectacular story writer. I love all of the warriors books, and Darkest Hour comes out in 3 days.

The Best Yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: A Dangerous Path (Warriors, Book 5) (Hardcover)
This book picks up where Rising Storm left off. Tigerstar is the new leader of ShadowClan, and he acts as though his traitor days are over. The book starts out with these four leaders:Crookedstar, Bluestar, Tigerstar, and Tallstar. By the end of the book, two are replaced. And it's not who you think!! Both Cinderpelt and Bluestar get messages from StarClan about these two words: 'pack' and 'kill'. Sandstorm and Fireheart have arguments, like in Rising Storm. Cinderpelt misses Yellowfang a lot, but doesn't come into the story often. Yellowfang makes a breif appearance with Spottedleaf in Fireheart's dreams. And someone comes back to ThunderClan!! Also, there is a tense meeting of clans not in the Gatherings, an elder dies, and Goldenflower and Speckletail both hate Fireheart. The ending is sort of obvious and anti-climatic, but it is much more fufilling than any other ending, so, READ A DANGEROUS PATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: A Dangerous Path (Warriors, Book 5) (Hardcover)
warning!: This review contains spoilers.
this is the best book in the warriors series! even better than The Darkest Hour. you have a disadvantage if you haven't read the other books before this one. Bluestar 's illness causes alot of trouble for thunderclan, so fireheart takes a bigger part in this book. Also later, Graystripe returns to the clan. Also, dogs have escaped twolegs, which gives more trouble to the clan. Anyway, YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK! OR ELSE....

A Dangerous Path...seriously!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: A Dangerous Path (Warriors, Book 5) (Hardcover)
At the end of the fourth book, Tigerclaw becomes Tigerstar.
At the Gathering, Tigerstar mentions the omen Runningnose said about StarClan choosing a cat to rule the whole forest. But, if you read the prologue of the fourth book, it said, 'for them to rule the forest, that they would pay the highest possible price'. End quote. Fireheart has to deal with two new threats; Tigerstar (of course), but he believes Leopardfur wants something in return for their help on the night of the fire. Fireheart tries hard, but he cannot console his leader. He wonders for a brief moment if StarClan abandoned them, but is always comforted by Sandstorm and Cinderpelt. There is a slight rift between the she-cats (jealousy). An unexpected relationship rises between two cats, and I'm not talking about Sandstorm and Fireheart. Cloud(paw)tail and Brightpaw. Cats are killed, but Brightpaw finally gets her warrior name, under horrible circumstances. 'Pack pack' and 'kill kill' are entering Bluestar and Cinderpelt's dreams. The cats ignore it, but towards the end, Tigerstar proves that he still truly loathes ThunderClan. A noble cat dies for its Clan (kind of obvious, really), and Fireheart tells Sandstorm for the first time that he loves her. Read the book, or you're a fool! :o

even though i have only read #3,4,and 5 out of the warrior seires this is definetly the best one yet.there is tons of action in it and there is definetly a suspenseful climax near the end.there is somthing out in the forest that is worse than anything that thunderclan has had 2 deal with before..DOGS and not just the usual twolegg's dogs but a vicous wild pack of them.well thunderclan doesnt know that there is a whole pack of them till its almost 2 late, then they find out that tigerstar has somthing 2 do with the pack.this book made me cry there were some really sad parts, and well you'lle just have 2 read the book 2 find out what happens!

Clearly the best book I have ever read!,

This review is from: Warriors #5: A Dangerous Path (Library Binding)
Out of all the Warriors books I have read, I have to say, this is by far the best of her books I have read. There are so many new things happening in this book. New warriors, new apprentices, the return of an old friend, great evil leading a clan, quite a few deaths, a new and great threat in the forest where the hunters of the forest are being hunted, and the rising of a new great leader. Bluestar now understands what Spottedleaf ment when she said "Fire alone will save our clan," One thing I have been waiting for a long time in this series since like the 3rd book is that it is begining to be more obvious that Sandstorm and Fireheart are falling in love. This is something from the book, which I consider my favorite part: Fireheart felt too full of emotion to answer. he strecthed out his head to press against her flank, and to his delight she did not move away. Instead she looked up at him again, and he felt as if he were drowning in the depths of her green gaze. "I'm sorry, Sandstorm," he murmured. "I never meant to hurt you." His voice barely more than a whisper, he added, "I love you." |
