5.0 out of 5 stars Get the Hell Out of My Wayyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, September 12, 2006
This review is from: Dangerous Toys (Audio CD)
This album is awesome!!! The music is excellent, but the singing is the best. Dangerous Toys' lead singer Jason McMaster basically sings about trying to get laid, getting drunk, and committing crimes. None of the lyrics on this album are showcase worthy displays of fine literature... but what great lyrics they are. I am not one to memorize songs, but I can pretty much sing along with the entire album while driving (which distinguishes DT from most other bands). Every song is full of awesome, cheesy, ridiculous, humorous, and/or flat-out memorable content:

- "hey man, I didn't know she was your wife"
- "man I really, really think, really think that I think"
- "even though I'm trouble, kids look up to me"
- "done unreal things, you wouldn't realize...living testament that crime pays"
- "queen of the Nile, love me like an earthquake" (?????)
- "a cloud of dust, a mighty hi-ho silver - 10 boots"
- "sorry bout dem bones in the muddy gutterrrrRRRRRRRRR.....yeahhhhhhhhh"
- "sportin a woody when yur +!++!*$ fly"

...and try using the following lyrics anywhere else:

"Shahnahnahnahnahnahnahnahnahnahnahnah...nahnahnahnahnahnahnahnahnahnahnahbahbahbah...baby...baby...nahnah. nahnah. nahnah. nahnah... shoobudymamma. Shoobudymamma. Shoobudymamma. Shoobudymamma...nahnah. Nahnah. Nahnah. Nahnah...gyehh gyehh gyehhyeahyeahyeahyeahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Down and dirty rock'n roll!, March 25, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Dangerous Toys (Audio CD)
I am a big fan of loud'n gritty rock'n roll. My fav bands are these guys, Guns'n Roses, AC/DC, Silvertide, and Aerosmith. They are all loud and dirty and dont spend time on useless crap like synthesizers and drum machines. This album is amazing. The guitars and the vocals scream and the bass and drums add a nice background quality.

Teas'n Pleas'n-5/5-Great opener. Great rocker. Great everything. This really gives you a taste of what's comin up. As in extremly loud rock music. GREAT!!

Scared-4/5-Pretty good. Overshadowed by two great rockers ("Teas'n Pleas'n and "Bones in the Gutter") on either side. The catchy chorus saved this song from being only 3/5.

Bones in the Gutter-5/5-Amazing! This is a freakin great song. The guitar and violent lyrics make this song the most intense of all 11 songs on this CD.

Take Me Drunk-5/5-Another great one. Pretty much a song about getting wasted. Not the most intriguing subject, but somehow the song is intriguing anyway. Very cool.

Feels Like A Hammer-4/5-This song is only 4/5 because it is really not the right time for this song. It is sandwiched between the party rockers "Take Me Drunk" and "Sport'n A Woody" this should've been the last song. But nontheless it is kinda good.

Sport'n A Woody-5/5-Incredible! The best riff so far out of the album though the riff from "Ten Boots" is better. This song is very sexually explicit but it makes for a nice light-hearted change from all the blood and murder so far in this album (see "Bones in the Gutter").

Queen of the Nile-5/5-This is the most catchy song on the album. In fact it is the most catchy song that I have ever heard. Amazing! Apparently Jason McMaster had a crush on Cleopatra. Hehehe!

Outlaw-5/5-The first of a duo of crime songs ("Outlaw" and "Here Comes Trouble") What a great song. This, "Here Comes Trouble", and "Ten Boots" make this album the dirtiest and hardest album in the world. Great lyrics.

Here Comes Trouble-5/5-Kind of like the Dangerous Toys' version of Guns'n Roses' "Paradise City". About a street urchin living a criminal life. This song doesn't deal with murder like "Outlaw" and "Bones in the Gutter", more like being a thief. Very good.

Ten Boots (Stompin')-5/5-BEST SONG ON THE WHOLE DAM ALBUM. Amazing the best rocker of them all. Not much more to say.

That Dog-4/5-Too bad. They coulda done better. Not horrible though (thank god).

The only reason this album got 5/5 is because of 5 amazing songs packed together (Sport'n A Woody, Queen of the Nile, Outlaw, Here Comes Trouble, Ten Boots). Thank these guys. If it wasn't for them, "Scared", "Feels Like A Hammer, and "That Dog" would've brought the album down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great rock n'roll CD!, June 25, 2000

"wolflust" (Tampa, Florida United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dangerous Toys (Audio CD)
This is one of the few bands from the 80's era that I really get into. All the songs on this album are very catchy. Jason McMaster has a great vocal range with a dirty raw sound to them (sort of like AC/DC). Their really isn't a bad song on the album. I would like to see the band continue as they wrote killer songs. If your a fan of the heavier 80's bands (such as Love/Hate, Skid Row, Rhino Bucket) then I would suggest this album!
