Book Description

December 29, 2005
On May 29, 2005, twenty-three-year-old Danica Patrick became the first female driver to lead a lap at the Indy 500. It was just one of many firsts for a young woman who’d begun karting at ten—her fourth-place finish at the Brickyard was the highest ever for a female racer—and who’d quickly caught the imagination of the American public. This book offers a close-up look at Danica, from her early ambitions (she moved to England at 16 to advance her racing career) to the mishaps that cost her first place at the 2005 Indy 500, to the growing successes of her rookie year in the IRL circuit.

Review

SPEEDTV.com, Jan. 24, 2006
“Don’t look for a ‘Sophomore Slump’ from Danica as the IRL readies for 2006. Read the book and see for yourself if she’s ‘The Real Deal.’”
                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Auto Aficionado, May/June 2007

“It does a fine job of capturing and conveying her intensity and the seriousness of her accomplishments in words and photographs.”
