The 8.5 inch Grand Chef Knife is a classic and essential kitchen tool. Ours was designed by Daniel Boulud for chopping, dicing, bias cutting and slicing. The user should rock the knife handle up and down with one hand and rest the fingers of the other hand lightly on the back near the tip. This knife is 100% forged from a single piece of highest quality high carbon stainless steel. The polymer handle is ergonimically designed and accented with signature DBK rivets. Daniel Boulud is a New York based chef who combines the best of traditional European cooking with the freshest of American ingredients. Growing up on his family's farm near Lyon France he was inspired by his grandmothers cooking, and by 13 he knew he wanted to become a professional chef. His renowned restaurants in New York City include Daniel, a four star eatery on Park Avenue named one of the ten best resturants in the world. Chef Boulud has personally designed every piece in the DBK line with function and form in mind. This collection is the culmination of his 30 years of cooking with hundreds of different tools combined with Sabatier's extensive experience creating high end cutlery and cookware.
