I was very impressed with the ease and quickness of the order and shipment when it came to Amazon.com. I am very, very pleased with this merchandise. It is excellent quality. To be honest, I expected something how shall I say, cheap looking, but instead when I opened the package I could not believe the beauty and quality of this pot. I absolutely love it and I will definetly be ordering it again for a Christmas present for my sister and more of these quality cast iron cookware for myself. I highly recommend this merchandise and the price is absolutely marvelous for what you get for it.

I've made several delicious dishes with this pot and consider this braiser an excellent buy. I find it much cuter than Le Creuset and it is only a fraction of the price. My only criticism is that the lid could fit more tightly. However, I get around this problem by putting a sheet of crumpled parchment paper on top of my stews to redirect all the moisture back down to the food. After trying the braiser, I purchased another DBK pot, the oval cocotte. With the money you save on this pot (versus Le Creuset or Staub), you could splurge on a lot of short ribs and have a great dinner with friends!

I ordered this braising roaster twice from Amazon for $69.99 since December 23, 2003 and they would not ship it. They shipped a 3 quart casserole instead. When I told them about the mistake they promptly shipped another ...3 quart casserole. Then the said they could not ship it because they did not know why they could not ship it. (?!) I ordered another color. The very same thing happened. Altogether I have returned four 3 quart casseroles to them. They were slow in giving me a refund.

Now they've raised the price and removed all reviews including the one I wrote about their inability to ship the correct item.

Beware the Amazon deceptions. Who wants to buy from a company like them. Not me anymore.
