Great slipper!!,
By Octavia Holland "Bookworm" (New York USA) - See all my reviews

I always interested in having comfort when I am just tooling around the house so I bought these slippers. I must tell you that I am amazed that these are so so comfortable. They run a little narrow so go up in width if you have to. it didn't bother me much though because I like the coziness of the snug feeling. I feel llike I am walking on pillows everytime I slide my feet into my dormies. I'm moving up to the Glamour II soon so be prepared to read another review.

SEAM GONE SMOOTH SAILING!,

What's so nice about these is they have returned to their roots. Well Almost. In the 60s (yes we wore slippers way back then) this slipper was made out of leather. I don't know why the devil shoemakers offer men leather slippers all the time yet the same makers produce only a few styles and NEVER THE TOE OUT HEEL OUT (as I call these) version, in leather. Why are we less in need of natural materials? I've written to Daniel Green many times and begged them to make an All Leather version. Seems $50-60 would be fair enough but apparently they don't think women will pay that. I don't know why since its women who will pay $1200 for a pair of red soled shoes when they earn only $35000 a year. Surely we can afford slippers.
What I am thrilled about though is Green took that interior seam off the innersole of the Dormie. Now that's a return to their 70s styling. I don't know a foot out there that wants a hard seam to stand on. You'll notice some of the Amazon images show the slipper with the seam still, others no. Judging by the Daniel Green paper catalog and from the two pair I ordered, the black sparkly and the animal print, THE SEAM IS GONE. LONG DIE THE SEAM. yipee. For the great price of really only $7 a pair for some of the variations (plus 8 for shipping built into the price) one can't complain much about these slippers. But if you want me to share a fuss, those by Scholl, where their upper is a strip of real leather across for a higher price than $7 (but lower than the non-sale price of Dormies), have more cushion than these very thinly padded Green ones. That aspect doesn't last but a minute though, in a week what little extra padding there is will be gone as they pancake on you. If you are a tiny person perhaps you'll get a whole month before they flop. They are item 58792 on the Dr. Leonard's web site. They were cutest in Gold but the gold seems to be no more. I alternate between both products. Both could be a whole lot better without much ingenuity. Just grab the Daniel Green paper catalog sometimes. Look at the stark difference in quality between the ladies and mens styles. The catalog reveals 20 for each gender. All but three of the mens are good quality leather or fine suede. For women only 9 are leather and the workmanship is nothing like it is in the men's section. WHY? **UPDATE** One other important difference surfaced. Scholls do not slip and slide on a wet floor but THESE DO. Be careful.

SO Comfortable, and Cute!,
By
This review is from: Daniel Green Women's Dormie Slide (Apparel)
These make great summer house slippers. I love that they are cute (and durable) enough that I can wear them outside to water the plants. etc. They are so cushy, I can wear them all day doing chores around the house and my feet never get tired. They seem very well made - I've had mine for six months and they are still good as new after much use.

These are the most comfortable slippers I have ever worn. Daniel Green is a first rate product. I have problem feet so it is a relief to find bedroom slippers that are comfortable. The price is also excellent.
Amazon has excellent service.

Excellent Slippers,

Daniel Green Dormie is my very favorite slipper. It is comfortable and the width is sufficient. I like the open toe also. It is also very durable. I recommend them highly.

I purchased these slippers for my 85 year old mother, who stands by her Daniel Green. She was so excited that they still make them. So overall if she was pleased, so am I.

Too wide,

These slippers were too wide for my feet. I returned them (postaged-free) and ordered a different slipper which fits quite well. Shoes.com was very helpful. I appreciate this company very much.

Daniel Green Slipper,
By Norma K. Fitzcharles (Spring, TX, US) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Daniel Green Women's Dormie Slide (Apparel)
This slipper is so stiff I can not walk in it. The sole is unbending and the upper portion cuts into my foot. Daniel Green was my favorite slipper years ago. No more. Their quality has completely deteriorated.
