Daniel Webster was a very bright person! Attorney, Founding Father and politician for the people. Webster learned to read early and could not remember not being able to read! He was at his best giving speeches and debating in the Court Room or Congress. I am surprised that Henry Cabot Lodge wrote this great book and opened up new aspects of Webster's life that had not been explored in the past.. Senator Jefferson Davis visited Webster's farm, Marshfield, and had an enjoyable time. Webster needs to be more on the Center Stage of history...great American! Very enjoyable read to expand your knowledge of history and the role a great man played in it!
