Good but some reservations,

I have seen Dessi live and like her a lot as a singer, but this Verdi disc comes a little too late. Artistically she is very accomplished, but the voice has lost some of its luster. I would give this an A for effort, but she does not erase the recordings of great Verdi sopranos. I listened to this and thought, "She got through that aria decently..." but I never thought, "Wow!" So I recommend this to Dessi fans. The rest will be happier with recordings by Milanov, Price, Callas, etc.

I have been looking for any recordings by Daniela Dessi.... found this Verdi Sings....I wish she had more solo dvd's to choose from....
She sounds like Tebaldi....I saw her on a DVD with Jose Cura.....she's fantastic...fantastic....fantastic |
