4.0 out of 5 stars Another one of these?
Where do they come up with these descriptions? Danielle's parents knew where she was (well, for half the book..). Her father sent her to the "master". Danielle didn't want to stay.

This review is from: Danielle: Diary of a Slave Girl (Mass Market Paperback)
This novel is pretty forgettable. It follows a rather common stock plot for this genre: young woman abducted and forced into sexual slavery and increasingly surprised along the way. About 1/4 of the book consists of advertisements from the publisher. The text of the novel is widely spaced to help fill it out. The scenes are mild and alternate between lesbian and heterosexual acts. There is one spanking scene, no bondage, little humiliation, and only indirect domination for those with specific tastes in mind. The style and grammar are fairly well executed if simplistic. The descriptions are a little repetitive, but somewhat detailed. Despite the negatives, I've read far worse in this genre so I have it 2 stars instead of the 1 star it would deserve in another genre.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not very thrilling at all, January 23, 1999

This review is from: Danielle: Diary of a Slave Girl (Mass Market Paperback)
Basically, I found this book to be very predictable, often it seemed to be leading in a very good direction only to let the reader down by changing views. As for the ending - what ending? It left the reader hanging in a most strange and annoying way. I felt my time was wasted reading it as there are far better book dealing with such a subject to be had

1.0 out of 5 stars Tedious and leading nowhere., January 20, 1999

This review is from: Danielle: Diary of a Slave Girl (Mass Market Paperback)
Perhaps I'm spoiled by the lush erotica of Anne Rice's Roquelaure books. Perhaps I'm just jaded. The insipid story of Danielle goes nowhere fast and is hardly the kind of "one-handed reading" that I was looking for; instead I was subjected to the whiny saga of this innocent young thing (hah!) who for all her "sufferings" manages to orgasm completely at will. Don't bother.
