Danielle Steel's "Remembrance" is a great melodrama about an Italian princess, her war hero husband, and the legacy they leave for their daughter Vanessa. The movie is one looooong flashback. It begins with the princess' murder, then goes back to happier times with the princess married to her American soldier husband. Serena (Eva La Rue,who looks like Natalie Wood) marries a...

5.0 out of 5 stars Danielle Steel's Remembrance, November 9, 2006
This review is from: Danielle Steel's Remembrance (DVD)
A wonderful warm story about love and loss of a loved one....in this case a loving husband. This beautiful loving woman struggles to pull her life back together after the loss of her husband and falls for an unstable cad who in the end destroys her. This beautiful movie will hold you in it's grasp until the very last scene. Enjoy!

Remembrance is one movie that will capativate you and keep your eyes
constantly on the movie. This is one of the greatest love stories, and
even though she lost her husband at a young age, she truly show's how
a woman can make it, and raise a young child.

Very inspritational movie, I highly recommend this movie, one of Danielle Steele's finest!

This is a good movie, and I enjoyed it. I must say, though, Amanda Tapping adds a special spark to the movie when she appears. Amanda fans, get this movie just for her. Her personality sparkles through her character!

3.0 out of 5 stars Thanks for the memories, January 28, 2009

Danielle Steel's "Remembrance" is a great melodrama about an Italian princess, her war hero husband, and the legacy they leave for their daughter Vanessa. The movie is one looooong flashback. It begins with the princess' murder, then goes back to happier times with the princess married to her American soldier husband. Serena (Eva La Rue,who looks like Natalie Wood) marries a soldier, despite the wrath of her mother in-law (a hammy Angie Dickinson) Her soldier's brother,Teddy, also carries a torch for her.

Serena loses her husband during the Korean War (not as glamorous as WWII) She becomes a model in New York City, where she meets the photographer Vassily. Vassily's secret isn't that he's a Soviet agent--but that he's a drug addict. Serena and Vassily have a whirlwind romance. Due to Vassily's addiction, their passion comes to a tragic end.

"Remembrance" is a fast-moving,fun melodrama. Eva La Rue,a regular on "All My Children",is superb as Princess Serena. The ending is especially poignant. It manages to be campy, cheesy, and unexpectedly moving. Thanks for the memories!
