5.0 out of 5 stars It beats a spoon all to heck:) April 10, 2010

This gadget is great! I started making bread about 6 months ago for fun mostly. I don't have a mixer and mixing the dough with a spoon has always been difficult. Usually I turn the dough out on a board and mix the last bit with my hands. For the first time I was able to mix the dough completely in the bowl!

5.0 out of 5 stars I was so surprised when I received this product February 17, 2011

You would think that when you spend 8 bucks on a hand tool that it would only go but so far. Turns out that one of the biggest misconceptions out there ( price determines value ) were proven not to be true when I opened the package that held this " magic wand." ( my new favorite tool ). This dough whisk is so powerful at whipping up any cookie dough or heavy dough mixture out there. I wasn't sure why I purchased it when I did but I'm glad that I did, it's so sturdy and the wooden handle ensures a firm grip ( very important ) when mixing any tough mixture by hand. The flat wire contraption that makes up the whisk scrapes evenly and effortlessly as well. WARNING - I would not recommend mixing more than 2 or 3 quarts of dough at a time with this dough whisk for fear of breaking the handle. If you feel firm pressure in your arms when stirring I would divide the batter evenly or until the whisk can pass freely through whatever you're making with ease. After all it's just a hand tool and for large amounts I would recommend using a hand or stand mixer with a dough hook attachment. I plan on ordering another on so my girls can each have one when we make cookies.

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC BREAD BAKING TOOL March 5, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
I recently bought a large Danish Dough Whisk. I've been baking more and more frequently, especially artisan loaves, and don't have a heavy-duty mixer. So, hand-stirred it is, and my old joints find this hard, especially with large batches.
The whisk (held close to the metal twists) really impressed me with the ability to completely combine wet and dry ingredients prior to kneading. Yes, I'd rather have a Kitchen Aid but this is far less expensive, and I don't mind kneading. Get your self one! I believe you'll enjoy it.

I always thought I would have to use my stand up mixer for mixing dough for bread but this did the job just as well. And I was using over six cups of flour for the recipe.
