Contacted factory. Ordered this. Arrived promptly. Looks great.

The Amazon description could be better. This is a 350 GPH magnetically driven centrifugal unit. All electrical components are completely sealed in epoxy, no seals, no oil. The only moving part is a ceramic impeller which can be removed for maintenance/repair/replacement. The factory claims this unit uses half the usual amount of electricity, I have no idea if that is true. Amps are .7.

Can't yet comment on performance. Will in a few months. Can clarify one thing. The one I received from Amazon has the cage, not the sponge filter. See other reviews. Can't say if this is a fluke. Factory tells me they have no way of telling which pre-fiter is included (old = sponge, new = cage) without looking in the box. Hard for Amazon customers to do that. I took a chance, and as noted, got the cage. Maybe all of Amazon's are the new ones or maybe mine got pulled out of order.

One final note: The cage pre-filter is larger than the pump so if you are setting this in a fountain cavity with hopes of hiding everything, and you wish to use the pre-filter, use these measurements which are taken with the pump sitting on its base, electrical cord to your left, pre-filter attached and to your right: 4.5" tall, 4.5" front to back, 9" long.

One final, final note. Factory responded to emails quickly and professionally. Google for address.

Amazon has the older version that only comes with the sponge filter, which can wear out the pump when clogged. The newer unit comes with a basket filter that does not get "clogged".

Purchased this pump to replace my last Danner Pondmaster which ran 16 hours a day for six years without missing a beat. Hearty and well constructed. Perfect for my small 8 Gallon free standing fountain with waterfall. I expect another six years of uninterrupted service.

It is quiet pump, all is plastic( except the screws ) so you won't have problem with the rust and has a long cord. I use for a 2 meters high fountain and works fine. Very good pump that I would recomend

There seems to be some confusion in shipping and/or packaging since some reviewers received the cage and others the sponge filter. Mine came with the cage. It's been running 24/7 for 3 months so far and has been working perfectly.

I bought this as a replacement for a previous pondmaster pump - pretty sure they are the same unit. This one has a cord that barely extends out of my pond. Of all the pumps and other pond equipment I have purchased from various manufactures, I have never gotten anything like this. This is beyond contempt and down-right dangerous.

This pump works great. A sponge filter was inserted into the filter cage to help it to filter our pond. The water in the pond is crystal clear.
