I took a shot in the dark at these boots. Overall, they are a good boot for my feet.
The Goods: The composite toe is great, it doesn't transfer the cold so bad. When I first got them, they were so stiff I was a little skeptical, but it has been a few weeks now and they are really breaking in well. They were so stiff I could barely bend them with my hands! I do really like the way they are constructed, and can see them lasting for a long time. The sole is very comfortable, I can stand on these for a longer time than my Dr. Marten Industrials. (which the soles fell apart in a 9 months) I work in a large facility, walking up to a few miles a day, and stand most of the time. Water resistant- I have worn these in the snow, rain and mud (Minnesota) and my feet stayed dry and comfortable. The eyelets for the laces are as heavy duty as they look. I really like having a 4" boot vs. my previous 6" boots. The tread- This is a great tread! it has great grip on slippery surfaces, and the dirt/mud/snow knocks right off. I also like that the tongue is attached all the way up to the top with the gortex material, I'm sure that really helps with the water resistant qualities.
The Bads: Very minute things, but the comp toe could be a little taller, i wouldn't want to have to wear bigger socks with these. The arch is there and comfortable, but I think it could also be a little taller, but then again I have pretty flat feet. I would also like to see a larger bumper on the front, I think the leather will be pretty beat in about a year, but I do kick fences and other things with my toe.
Sizing: To me, the sizing seems true. With other steel toes, i have usally have to go to an 11, but with these I wear my usual 10 1/2.
