I've had several pairs of these boots and they are great for hiking and work. The only complaint I have is that the insoles is flimsy. I replace them with Superfeet and these shoes are perfect.

I bought these boots in dark brown 6 years ago direct from Danner for $132 shipped. Initially, I thought that I would use them for day hikes and such. While they are definitely rugged enough for hiking and have miles of trails on them at this point, they are not too bulky for everyday use. In fact, I wear these things all the time and after more than 6 years of use, you can hardly tell. I wear them to work, in the yard, out and about, basically everywhere. They have taken the punishment of the trails, the snow, ice, mud, etc. and still look good enough to wear to the office. They are extremely comfortable, light, completely waterproof, and have required no maintenance--not even new laces. I'm a huge believer in Danner boots, I have worn them daily for years at work, but never believed that these lightweight Danners would deliver the way their stitch down leather boots do. I was wrong. While this type of sole cannot be replaced making them in essence disposable boots, with the way they have stood up over the past 6 years, I expect to get more than my money's worth. Take it from someone who is really, really particular about footwear, these are great boots.

I have had three pair of these shoes. I bought the first pair and sent them back for warranty three times. The first pair was over two years old and Danner warrantied them. The next pair was less than a year old and did the same. The last pair was about 16 months old and they said they wouldn't warranty them because they were over a year old. They sent me a 30% off coupon if I bought boots from them. Some of the stores are having sales knocking off 20%. We'll anyway, the boots were really confortable, I like them, however the the soles breaking is the pits. I published a picture above if it shows up that shows the break after about 16 months of pretty good use. Mostly walking on roads. I walk about every day.

Danner hits another one out of the park with this boot. It's all the best of Danner: quality, comfort, performance and with the low profile it's a really easy work boot to wear. I skip around Danner boots looking for a better one and I believe that I'll be buying this one again. Great product and a great price!
