Was a bit apprehensive about buying these boots because of the $300 dollar price tag. But I am glad I did. Used them this winter in icy and wet conditions at my property and my feet stayed warm, dry and comfortable. I have used them at work as well (steamfitter) and they are holding up better than any other boot I have used. They still look brand new after I cleaned and polished them. I see the need for the high price tag since I wont be buying another pair anytime soon. Fine American craftsmanship.

I used these boots in New Zealand on various hikes/ climbs. They never let me down. (mud/rain/rocks) Numerous other hikers wanted to know where I got these wonderful boots. A word to the wise, don't want too long to get them resoled, and sent it back to the company to have the work done at a very reasonable rate. I tried to have these great boots resoled at a local shoe maker and well, I am know buying another pair, due to him messing them up. Anyway great pair of boots.

Perfect, top quality, US made, and smart looking. I previously purchased two other Danners and wore them daily for years. I recently ordered the exact same size and they were too short and narrow. I increased the size (from 8.5 EE to 9 EE) and they arrived in two days! I am wearing them today and they are wonderful.

PRODUCT WARNING: These boots run NARROW!!

Please keep this in mind and that I have never had to order extra wide shoes or boots in my life. My first pair of these were my default size 10 D and was simply too narrow. Perhaps with extensive breaking-in period (years) it may have gotten better, but a re-order of 10 2E size fit perfect.

These are by far the most comfortable pair of boots I have ever worn, especially the first time! I suffered zero discomfort on the lower or upper. And, by the second wearing, these boots felt like they were a part of my body. Even my tennis shoes required a half dozen wearings to be that comfortable.

I have to give many compliments to the outstanding quality of construction as well. From what appears to be the highest of quality leather to the stitching, lace holes and overall durability.

Being very hesitant at first to spend this much money on a pair of boots, I managed to snag them while Amazon had their 25% sale during the holidays. Now having used them, I am convinced they are worth every penny of their regular price.

The soles are extremely cushioning and offer an incredibly secure tread pattern. As far as warmth, I have so far worn them during a snowy 10 degree (-12 C) day and my feet (which get cold very easily) felt like I was sitting in my living room at home!

Pros:
+ Beyond comfortable
+ Extremely durable and well made
+ High grade leather
+ Minimal number of stitches
+ ALL leather (no side zip thank you!)
+ Aggressive tread
+ Sole is slightly wider than boot offering great stability
+ Easy to lace
+ Secure lacing (never came loose)
+ Light weight for being 8-inch high
+ Very warm and cozy
+ GORE-TEX waterproof lining
+ Includes plastic insert for the inside heal area adding stability and comfort
+ Stylish...I can wear them with jeans to the office!
+ Company offers full reconditioning service for years of use

Cons:
- Price (but you absolutely get what you pay for)

Outstanding quality. Exactly as expected.
Took a couple days for the left boot to adjust to my foot, but now they fit like gloves.... I expect this pair will last several years before needing recraft, as have the many other pairs I've owned.

High quality boots. Comfortable to wear after a very short "break in"; in fact they simply mold to the contour of your feet and ankle.
Full leather outside with 200gr Thinsulate, Gore-Tex and Cambrelle lining inside. The outsole is made of two layer; a middle one rather spongy and softer to absorb walking impact and a lower one to provide traction and long wear on various surfaces.
The way the sole is fixed to the rest of the boot (something they call "stitchdown construction") permit them to be resoled when the outer sole would be worn out, and that obviously extend the life of the product for a modest price.
I sincerely try as much as possible to buy product made "locally" (US and Canada) by people who earn a decent salary and work in safe and healthy shop with respect for the environment
Therefore, deciding to buy those boots over some cheap import, was pretty easy.
I would recommend those boots to anyone who like good quality product, and doesn't mind paying a little more for a pair of boots that will last a long time and then the only thing worn out (the sole) could be easily and economically replaced, giving him (or her) a "new" pair a boots, already perfectly molded to his feet.
And no, I don't work for Danner !

I've owned several pairs of theses boots and they are the best by far. I work 10 hours shifts and I'm on my feet a lot. These boots are comfortable, they look good and they are well made.

I have owned several pairs of Danner boots. I use them as a motorcycle boot, so I need something with aggressive tread, and waterproof from toes on up. These boots are heavier than most shoes, but you feel like you could kick a door down with these on. Also, you will not get a normal foot bed with these boots, you get the plastic thing that I took out and put in some orthotics in the boot. Orthotics do fit in the boot but you will need to adjust the laces accordingly. I do suggest you buy the wide pair because these do feel narrow. And probably some kind of gel or comfy foot bed as long as your heel doesn't feel like its walking out of the boot.

I like the idea that these boots can be rebuilt at Danner for about half the cost of these new. If you sign up for their shoe and accessory emails, you will be able to take another 20 percent off. So if you have looked around for a entire leather shoe with an aggressive sole and believe it or not made in the USA, you can get these boots for about 240.00 possible cheaper if you watch them for awhile.
Keep in mind they are leather, they do the natural leather creases but with good conditioner and black boot dressing you will always keep them looking new.

I am glad I found them on Amazon, and look forward to wearing them thru the years.

Picked these up for Fire/EMS. After reading the reviews, I ordered a wide because my foot is a tad wider than a "regular" and I had seen where these are narrow.

I give them a 10/10 for comfort and "breaking in". I did have some trouble with them eating my socks, but once I found the right pair of socks, they are perfect. I think I got a half size bigger than what I really needed, but that's my fault. I can wear these for 12+ hours and they still feel great! I am a volunteer, not career, but I went with Danner because cheaper brands wear out quickly, where these can be resoled. I have gotten many compliments on them from "the guys", and Amazon had the best price BY FAR.

They do come with an insert for additional arch protection. I have a super high arch and have a hard time finding shoes, but this arch was a bit much for even me. Some people may like it, I chose not to put them in.

If you can catch them on sale, this is definitely the way to go. If you're working Fire/EMS, every upgrade in equipment counts and your feet are no exception. Even at full retail price, these boots outshine cheaper brands.

So all in all, these are a 10/10. Invest up front and you won't have to worry about constantly replacing.

I work corrections so I'm on my feet all day long and these boots give me tremendous ankle support. I'm flat footed so when reading the reviews about these boots being too narrow for some people I was a little hesitant but decided to give them a try anyways. As soon as you open the box and take at look at them you can tell instantly that these are high quality "MADE IN AMERICA " boots. When I slid them on for the first time I just knew these boots were different from any other I've ever worn. I've worn Bates and other crappy Chinese made brands until now and I've noticed that those tend to break down or tear fast. Especially any of the ones with the side zippers. I regret never giving these a try. So if you want a nice looking pair of boots that offer you great protection from the elements, these Danners are the way to go.
