Worth the extra money, most boots that cost half as much don't last more than 6 months, so I'm money ahead anyway.

I can't believe the price at $350. This is up $60 or so over what I paid. Great boots. Well constructed. Bombproof...maybe.

Only complaint I have is I've superficially sliced the toe (tops...but not too bad) working with sharp steal, kneeling, etc. It did exactly what it's supposed to do: protect my feet. So happy I still got all my toes. For the price we're paying, I'd like to get option of black Kevlar laces. I just don't like the cheap looking laces even though they perform fine. I just think they look cheesy on such a great, expensive black boots. And who doesn't like Kevlar in anything including underwear! Can't beat the stuff.

Now, I don't wear these boots much in the rain or snow, but if and when, my feet are always dry and warm. They're hot in summer temps but breath a bit.

Surprisingly, I've gotten a lot of nice, unexpected compliments wearing these boots. I didn't know Danner before buying these, but I do now. In fact, I liked them so much, I made my brother buy a pair of the exact same. He loves them, too.

I used these boots for work. They lasted 6 months and protected my feet from some of the toughest jobs you can imagine.

They kept my feet dry and protected while working in very hazardous conditions. The leather often was wet, just about everyday, from rain puddles and salt water.

I used them when demolishing a building and would often have to walk through very sharp, jagged steel, debris that would have destroyed lesser quality boots quickly. These boots are VERY tough.

They take a little while to break in and they are slick on ice. But I will be purchasing another pair of these boots to get me through next summer.

Under normal working conditions these boots would last for many years. I am VERY hard on boots and was impressed they lasted as long as they did.

    Great boots!!

These Danner Super Rain Forests are the third pair I've purchased. Wore them a full 10 hr day the 1st day, and my feet were more comfortable that evening than they'd been in weeks!

I try to keep two pair of quality work boots in use at all times, so I can let them rest and breath every other day. With the 2008 Great Recession I got behind and finally wore out my 2001 model SRF's AND a pair of White's Hawthornes I bought about 1-1/2 yrs ago.

I plan to have the worn out SRF's recrafted, even though the toes on both boots have holes and will have to have leather toe caps installed afterward. Danner makes the best work/hunting boot on the market in my experience! Pay the extra up front and get the best value over the life of the boots and the safest, most sure footed experience throughout.

I work construction and logging, often jumping down off cats and excavators into knee deep mud in the winter and 4" minus size pit run rock in the summer, not to mention sharp sticks and oil, grease, dust, and steep sidehills without a twisted ankle or a leak over many years until the toes finally wore through from abuse.

These boots just keep going. I'm sure they'd go a lot further if I cleaned and conditioned them more than once or twice in 13 yrs.

I'm a forester in Pennsylvania and bought these boots because one of our technicians got a pair (200G Thinsulate) last fall. He has worn them since then and they have held up to the field abuse we put them through. Stream crossings, long bushwhacks through rhododendron and mtn laurel, up and down steep ridges, across sharp rocks and boulder fields. Typically, we expect 1-2 field seasons from a pair of boots and about 1-2 months before they begin to leak. His have yet to leak, the soles are in great shape and the leather cleans up nicely. Disclaimer: If you wear boots in a factory setting or when running equipment, get something lighter, even the rain forests rather than the supers. These are very stiff and will break in your feet. Mine are not broken in yet because I won't wear them on the terrain we're on for the break-in period. However, once they are broken in, they will last you a very, very long time. If you NEED good, heavy, reliable boots then buy these. If you are a casual boot wearer, buy Chippewa, Carolina, *insert brand here.

This is my first time experiencing Danner work boots. I usually wear Redwing. For an American made boot, the Danner is much better than the Redwings construction wise. Considering the price of these boots are about $100 more than the best Redwings, it is worth it. The boots are snug at first but once they break in they become one with your foot. This is great since loose boots cause blisters and tired feet. I just wished I paid the extra money for the Danner, rather than waste my money with other brands all those years. The true test will be in 6 months when they see all the chemicals, mud, snow, rain and whatever else my job throws at them. I will write a follow up then.

This is my second pair of Super Rain Forests. The first has lasted me three seasons working construction in all kinds of environments. Worth the extra money, most boots that cost half as much don't last more than 6 months, so I'm money ahead anyway. A little stiff at first, but once they're broken in they're comfortable for a work boot. Be sure to oil them occasionally and they'll last a long time.
