I decided to wear these boots for a full year before reviewing them, and I'm glad I did. I am a land surveyor and I've had these boots on my feet for 45-55 hours per week ever since I got them. I've worn them through many different terrains ranging from asphalt to mountains and everything in between, including snow. What makes them almost perfect is that they have held up extremely well and really don't show a year's worth of wear. They have been very comfortable since day one, which is a huge plus for me, and are relatively light weight. The sole is still in good shape with plenty of tread left. Nothing has broken, cracked or come unstitched. Now for the bad part. When the boots were about 7-8 months old, both boots started to leak dirt (and water) from the toe where the rubber meets the leather. My Dad also bought these boots for work and his did the same thing at around the same time frame. This is a pretty big disappointment because if it weren't for this problem, I could honestly say that I would not buy another boot. If Danner could fix this problem, they would have a home run with this boot. I don't think they would even have any competition until you reached the $250-$300 range.

The length is okay. However they are cut narrow and they rubbed the top of my left foot raw. I wear standard cotton work socks. I thought maybe the boots would give a little but not a chance. I think in general they look nice but I cannot wear them at all after three attempts. They literally killed my feet. There really is no room for the top half of your foot. Sorry.

After having worn DM Bex work boots for 10 years, they became no longer available at our local shoe discounter, so I went on the hunt for something suitable (or even better). I happened upon the Danners in our local Scheel's store and tried the 12D pair in stock.

The support of this shoe amazed me- it cradled my feet much like the Superfeet (Black) Insoles I've been using in my other shoes. However, they felt a bit snug mid-foot and I thought they would eventually "relax" with wear. I bought them anyway, wore them for two months and the darn shoes did not relax or stretch with wear, a testament to their legendary build quality.

Being too late for a store return, I took a gamble and ordered the 12EE size online. They fit like a dream immediately, allowing my feet just enough room with ample support. The lace pattern and premium eyelets allow for quick on-off, and the gore-tex liner really helps to keep my feet comfortable and dry.

My first pair of 12D boots will hopefully be re-worked or exchanged at the Danner factory. $150-$200 for work shoes may seem like a lot to pay initially, but for a pair of shoes that really can restored at the factory to like-new condition it's really a bargain.

I think these are really comfortable . . . unfortunately I had to return them as they weren't the composite toe work boots I needed . . .I certainly can't blame the boots just because I can't read! If you don't need safety toes, these are great.

Bought these for the husband, he put them on the first day and wore them fishing. He loves these boots, he is a truck driver and is climbing in and out of the truck and trailer all day, walking around in factories and exposing these to all sorts of environmental conditions. He has thanked me for these again and again. No complaints at all about fit or width. Now that he has put them through their paces for the past few months he loves them even more and they are wearing really well. When these boots finally do wear out I will be buying him another pair without hesitation.

Have worn these boots for a week. Out of the box they fit great. Good support all around. The only issue so far is around the top of the ankle were you tie the laces a bit irritable. I think with the break in they will wear. As the week went on they seem to break in more. The laces would come undone. I think this is due to stiff leather. I have not worn them in wet conditions yet so I cannot say for water proof, though they are Gortex. For the 5 days I have worn them, 10 hour days they have NOT been a disappointment.

Haven't taken them on a real hike yet, but so far they seem to be breaking in well. They are well-built and consistent with Danner's high standards, there seems to be plenty of room in the toe box, and they look great. I bought them to replace a pair of 15 year old Timberland Pros, which I have loved. I don' t know if I will love these as much, but I got such a fantastic deal from the seller, I had to give them a try. An
Oregon-based company, too, which I appreciate.

These are my 3rd pair of danner boots for summer work (construction). I usually get 2 summers out these boots. Lightweight and quick break in, waterproofing lasts about a year. Better than all hiking boots that I have tried even the ones that cost twice as much.

I am a carpenter foreman in Chicago. I log a ton of miles on my shoes daily and these boots are amazing. In just two days my feet went from aching to feeling great. Will purchase again without a doubt.
