Format: Paperback
Mr. Hoxie has written a compelling story that contains many layers of a human experience. It is a love story that shows how one can move on from a broken past. It is a story of forgiveness. It is a story of letting go of limitations and rising above them in order to achieve unrealized dreams.

Life is full of paradoxes and Mr. Hoxie obviously has an innate spiritual understanding of the mysteries of life. He tells a story with many disturbing elements as if he had lived through them himself. He does so without casting judgments. The unbelievable aspects of the characters' lives become believable as Mr. Hoxie expertly weaves the tapestry that becomes this story.

The book was a fast read and it kept my rapt attention over the course of three evenings. I did not want to put it down. As is obvious from the story, life is not fair. Yet life is good! I love the affirming way that he ends the story. You won't be sorry that you have taken the journey. Perhaps you will discover that you have arrived at a similar destination within your own life.

I am looking forward to his next book. Mr. Hoxie is a consummate storyteller. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who is a student of life and love. After all, who would want anything else?

Davis Aujourd'hui, author of "The Misadventures of Sister Mary Olga Fortitude"

Format: Paperback
I liked reading Mr. Hoxie's book. It showed what so many of us have a difficult time understanding, that actions have consequences, both positive and negative. As a military veteran, I have seen the consequences of war, rarely positive for the individuals involved. The events in this book, primarily through the selfish acts of his partents, force Danny to make decisions that he should not be making. Mr. Hoxie captures the loneliness of Danny's life in a clear way. I wonder how much of this book in any way reflects events in the life of the author. This book is a fairly quick read, and forces you to think about the impact of war, lies, and family relationships on individuals. As a sports fan, I enjoyed the chapters in the book that involving Danny's involvement in high school football and what it represented to Danny. I would advise picking up this book, I enjoyed reading it, and hope Mr Hoxie continues down the literary path.

I found this to be a very compelling story of one young mans journey in life. It was a page turner to say the least. Very emotional at times. Loved every minute of it!
