The design is indeed 'different'. Nordic comes to mind, but made in Vietnam. (AKA: China). They ARE marked 18/10, much better quality than 18/0 that I saw another buyer complain about. Except the knife isn't marked at all and is very magnetic. Probably a higher percent iron content to hold an edge better. But it still should have been marked. These will probably seem "clunky" to some because the business ends are heavier than you would expect, or even like. Compared to the Knorks that these will replace, they are much more comfortable and tend to stay on the dinnerware because of their weightier front ends. I would have liked the handles a bit wider in the middle. The spoon bowls are nicely formed as are the forks. The knife will take some getting used to, and is a little testy to pick up from a flat surface because of it's thinner handle. Both fork's tines are nicely formed and beefy, but this doesn't appear to affect their intended use. The finish is a shiny satin, not polished. Not quite shown as such in the picture. And Amazon had the better prices out there also. All in all, an eye catching group of utensils that could also be used for mini gardening? A bit pricey, maybe, but I like 'em.

So glad to have found more pieces for my son's silverware. He needed more pieces and I was so glad to find them - arrived in great shape and he was very pleased.
